Default Great deal at SWFA.COM for AR optics!

BSA 6-18x40 Sweet 223 Riflescope Kit

That mount alone is usually $80. Your basically getting the scope for $20. I have a Sweet .22 and the BDC works great and the glass is surprisingly clear for the money. I'm picking this up for Coyote hunting. My buddy uses the same scope for his Saiga .223. The 1-4x wasn't enough for the distances we shoot at.

I guess I'll be running my 1-4x and this for hunting, long distance shooting. With the one piece mounts the scopes should hold zero no problem.

I just got mine zero'd yesterday. This is my second BSA Sweet scope. I have a 3-9x .22 scope on my Marlin bolt action. I'm again pleasanlty surprised by the quality of the glass. Not to mention the BDC turrets just flat out work!

I zeroed the scope at 100 yds. I was shooting just under an inch with cheap AE 55 grain. I then turned the dial to 200. One inch group at 200 yds. Couldn't believe it! Shot a bit higher than 100 yds but it still shot a tight group. What more can you ask?

The mount is very solid and worth $80-$90 by itself. That makes the scope around $20. Can't beat it for that $$. This is going to be my long range/coyote hunting scope. Seems like it will work just fine.

This seems like such a great deal, I'm almost tempted to pick one up, just for the fact it comes with the Burris mount and you can add Butler Creek lens caps for 15 for the pair.

Did a little checking on this scope and see some mixed reviews. One person mentions that to use the turret, you have to loosen three allen head screws per turret, then went on to mention he could never keep them tight. Apparently it comes with cams to adjust turrets for 50, 55, and 62 grain bullets.

Amazon has this scope for 98 bucks, 53% off retail. I can buy that Burris mount for 65 bucks at joeboboutfitters, so that's only paying 35 bucks for this scope. I see discrepency when I look at the field of view specs between various places, the worst case being 6.5' at 6x at 100 yards and 2.5' at 18x at 100 yrds. Even at that it seems like you'd get some use out of it, even if only for fun. What I can't get past is the 19" length! If you align the back of the scope up with the charging handle, the front would be 2.5" beyond the typical A style fixed sight. At that length, I don't really think a person could get the scope that far forward, even with the Burris PEPR mount. To me it appears a person would have to be further back on the rifle than would be comfortable in order to maintain proper eye relief.

Grover's 32x scope might be that long, but at least it's 32x power and not just 18x.

But still, for 35 bucks, I'm sure it a big what the heck..

My thing on this scope is once you start reaching 200+ yards 18 magnification is just not enough, I rarely zoom out to 32 but I do go 24-26 alot. 4-16 gave me a nice field of view but after a couple of shots the prairie dogs would not come up close enough for the 16 power, the crosshair center would be bigger than what you get to see of the target. I am going to try a 6-24x50 Supposed Bushnell, Dusk to Dawn, but like Rod the reviews on it get real iffy, but it was a best offer deal and I shot them an offer and they took it (which makes me a little afraid in itself) But I got the scope with rings shipped for under $50 (not Singapore Rod) but not much under $50, So as crazy Rod said what the heck!!!

Why pay $165 for it when you can get if from SWFA for $100? Makes the scope even cheaper. I don't have fixed front sight and the front of the scopes sit right about where I have my magpul BUIS mounted. It's long but doable. Ill snap a pic for ya. It has the cams for different bullet weights. I had no problem getting the tight on this scope or my .22 of the same make. Like I said I mainly did it because of the mount and the scope ended up being about $20.

LOL, I said everyting you said and more. Seems like a great value since you get the mount. I'm counting it as a 35 dollar scope since I can buy that mount for 65 bucks from Joebobs. Still, that's cheap for what the scope it.

Thanks for the photo, it acutally looks a LOT better on there than I thought it would. Might be something I could try on one of my 15-22's!

I read a review about the screw on lens caps, wasn't sure what they were talking about, but I see what it is now in your picture.

OK, I'm giving one a try, mainly because I need one of those mounts anyways.

Exactly why I did it. I figured if the scope sucks then I'm only out $20 or so. You could also probably sell the scope for $50 easy if you wanted to.

This scope and mount came in yesterday. Not a bad scope at all. It really brings in my neighbor's dock. Almost brought it right in to my bedroom! I haven't messed with the changable turrets or read much about it yet. The Scope seems well built, has a nice finish, glass seem pretty clear and was nice and bright in the daylight anyways.

It comes with lens covers, they screw in at each end and are made of metal, which kinda surprised me. Even though it says made in China, you really have to search to find that as it's printed on the scope in black on the under side of the eye piece.

Maybe I'll get a chance to try it out tomorrow evening.

So, from the measurements, is this deal a no go for a fixed front sight carbine. Looks like it from the pictures.

BSA= Barf, Slop, and Agitation.

When it comes to optics.... you REALLY do get what you pay for.
Barska, BSA, Tasco- these are for BB guns, plain and simple.

If you want to hit the ring at 200 yards, you are looking at a minimum 6x scope. To hit well at 300 yards, a 3x9 is about the minimum to make MOA shooting happen for the average decent shooter.
While I do love a bargain, there is simply not much to be said when it comes to making shots count. Like the M&P 15 Sport; 'less expensive' describes it, not 'Cheap'.
A Weaver, Nikon, Leupold, Burris and then there are several less common units that are pretty good; Nikko Sterling, Bushnell, Redfield, Simmons.
A scope does not need to be $400 to get a good unit. But you had best expect to pay around $120-200 for a baseline decent optic if you really want to pursue accuracy.

I could go on, and on..... but you get the point.

No it wouldn't work. You could mount it back further but then you would not have good eye relief at all.

You never answered the OP's question? He didn't ask your opinion on cheap optics, he asked if someone had used the scope. I do agree with most of your comments however, this scope being all of $20 when you factor in the cost of the mount, you not taking much of a chance here. I found the optic to be a pleasant surprise. I did just sell mine to fund a Nikon P223. Most of us in the thread bought the combo for the mount, not the scope.

I might buy it for the mount, even though the scope will not work with my rifle. The boy would love it mounted on his airsoft sniper rifle though!
