Bipod
Hi I am new to the forum and a new owner of a S&W AR15 M&P sport. Absolutely love this. I am interested in an inexpensive bipod and don't know where to go. I've found them from $20- $175. I do believe you usually get what you pay for. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Welcome.
I have a Harris bi-pod that I use on my bolt action rifles. It attaches to a sling swivel stud. The legs are adjustable for leveling on uneven ground and spring loaded to fold parallel to the barrel for carry. The one I have has legs that adjust from 8' to 12". Harris makes other sizes and also has a model that will traverse from side to side without resetting the legs. I use it for sighting in when sandbags or a rest are not available mostly. I've also used it for taking head-shots on squirrels at 200 yards with my .22-250. I have no idea what they cost these days. I got mine from Midway USA.
Again, welcome and enjoy the wealth of knowledge on this forum.

Welcome on board.
After getting some recommendations from other members of this forum I bought an NcStar bipod from Amazon. It was 1/3 the cost of a Harris but only time will tell if I should have ponied up for the real McCoy.
The issue at hand is that the Sport doesn't have an attachment point for a bipod on its stock hand guard. I believe that a few members here have found picatinny rails that can be attached to the bottom of the hand guard. Or you can opt for an railed aftermarket hand guard. The NcStar comes with a picatinny rail adapter.

Welcome! You did perfect. In my humble opinion starting with the lowest cost item (within reason) is the way to go. I started with a $60 bipod from Big 5 (Caldwell) and figured out what I liked and didn't like about it. Then I bought an Atlas and haven't looked back since (I put a short picatinny on my Bell and Carlson stock so the Quick Detach Atlas is rock solid)
For my AR I have a grip-pod that looks and works great. It collapses to a foregrip and with a buttom push spits and extends into a bipod.

I use a UTG precision bipod on one Sport and a Caldwell on the other. For the money the UTG is really hard to beat plus it comes with 4 different options for mounting
It is affordable and solid, plus wont break the bank and comes with an adaptor that will work with your stock handguard!
Oh and Welcome!!!

Thanks guys, the info is a great starting point. I was looking at the DD free floating quad rail, but for now that's all I could do, on that rail, was look. I'll have to save my scheckles for that rail. Thanks again, I'm sure I'll be picking more brain cells as I go along.

bipod
I found that the Mako Foregrip-Pod is awesome for me on my sport. You actually get the best of both worlds and it is just about as close as you can get to the GS foregrips some of us are using in the military on our M4s. Very sturdy and spring loaded so you can go from CQB to bipod at the push of a button and they are steel reinforce
