Default Coyote down, 300BLK style

Just for the .300 guys getting into this round for the fun as well as the game hunting. This was taken at about 130ish yards head on with my .300 blackout. Shot with Remington 125gr from my stand. Bullet entered the chest cavity and nearly exited the top of the rear left leg. Dropped dead in his tracks and never made a move. This was my first yote with the .300, so i'll be having my nice little pelt made of him. Needles to say i am very happy with the .300 blackout as my yote/hog game taker.

Of course thats accounting for bullet drop, but thats normal for any weapon though some calibers differ due to bigger cases having more power (thats obvious). As with any weapon, you must practice in order to be precise.

I actually have mine dialed in at around 200 yards. So anything farther i have to aim high (accounting from drop). Anything closer im aiming a little low, but nothing like accounting for the drop. So it varies between the distances. It's not a .50 cal by any means. But it is a nasty bullet for its size that packs a hell of a punch behind it.

Its stated that a .300 blackout has as much energy at 300 yards than a .357 has at the muzzle. So that should tell u, its probably going to hurt on the receiving end lol. And if we compare it to the standard M4. 300 BLK from a 9 inch barrel has the same energy at the muzzle as a 14.5 inch barrel M4, and about 5% more energy at 440 yards.

Wiley got sent off to have my pelt made. I was told 8-10 weeks, since my taxidermist seems to be backed up with orders. But hopefully in the next few months i'll be going pick it up.

I have a load of those coyotes up at my camp and on occasion we like to take a few of them out. This one just so happened to be my first with the .300 BLK, so its sentimental to me, lol. I'll be going back next week or so and get back to hunting the hogs. Those things are tearing up my levees all around my duck ponds.

Never been hog hunting, but have always wanted to. It's half of the reason that I built my .300 upper. Going to try to go soon out in Ohio about an hour from Wheeling, VA, but not sure about the population there. Lots of yotes though!
