This model is about 1800 €€ (not $$) in France.
It's the first time in France that we can buy S&W M&P15 AR15 !
We can buy since long time other brands like OBERLAND, SDI, SCHMEISSER, ASTRA, NORINCO and since a few months DPMS and BUSHMASTER, maybe STAG soon.
It's not very difficult to have AR15, we have to ask for a specific authorisation.

Oui oui! Nice rifle and great pics. Tell us how well it shoots after you have had her to the range.

That's over $2300 US dollars, that model would run about $1100 here so I guess "expensive" is subjective :).

The specific authorization you have to ask for, does it cost money? Is it hard to have that authorization approved, or can most anyone be approved?

Either way, that's great that you can buy Smith and Wesson M&P15 in France now.

Brand new never shot yet, you need to get them out there and shoot and have fun.:D Don't forget to clean and lubricate well. So do you have two of them or just change to FDE?

I bought the older MOE carbine length 811020 archived on S&W site 1:9 twist. Not sure if I would have waited even if I knew they were gone to produce but will buy this model also when I get my next $1000 or so USD together, then I will only need a S&W M&P10 to complete my collection.

Did you also get the accessories with it? The Art of Tactical Carbine Volume I & II DVDs from Magpul Dynamics and Magpul MVG (Vertical Grip)

How is the ammunition supply in France, it's making a comeback here in the USA. Also look like you are allowed to have 30 round magazines.

No money to have it.
You must have 21 years old, you have to be registred in a shooting club and then you have to ask for authorizations to have guns, It's not difficult but It can take time, It depends on the cities, about 2 months or 1 year...
Not anyone, you must have a police record blank, never gone to jail or have problem with justice...

We can buy 30 rounds magazines and more, we can have 10.3", 11.5" or 14.5" AR15.
We can buy Wolf, Barnault, Tulamo, Fiocchi, S&B, Geco and other ammunitions, but It's more expansive that in USA...!!
The M&P15 MOE Mid is with these two DVDs and the vertical grip.
We can buy Eotech, TRS25, Ampoint etc... But It's also expansive !

how much per round is ammo? steel cased stuff runs about $.30 a round, brass $.40 on a good deal but average $.50 and up for practice ammo, even more for good competition ammo $.75 to more than $1 a round.

what does an eotech 512 cost in France?

Eotech 512 for about 480€€ in France.
Ammo : I have bought today Fiocchi for 345€€ / 1000.

Congrats - nice rifle! I like mine and put an Eotech 512 on it. Good combo. Enjoy yours!

Forgot the dvd's are probably NTSC Standard and your standard is SECAM standard guess you can't watch them or did they ship your format. I hear they are pretty good.

Still very good firearms glad you could get one. I have a Vortex Sparc on the Sig and cheaper one on the S&W both MOE.

Great series of photos, thanks. It's cool to know you can actually have fun guns over there.

You could put Paris in your profile, then you'd get a pass on the occasional translation mix-up.

Congratulations! You have more freedom in France than we have in California.

Hello,
Thanks for your messages !
I can shoot in Paris at 200 and 300m max.
We actually can buy DPMS, Bushmaster, S&W and now Stag arms AR15 !!
It's really nice for us french shooters !
We also have european AR as SDI, Schmeisser, Hera, Oberland or HK MR223 A1, SIG 516 for exemple.
I've just ordered a KAC micro rear sight and I'm thinking of buying a scope : Vortex PST 1-4x22, Burris MTAC, other ?!
And a QD mount like Burris PEPR ou AD RICON H...

Your English is a lot better than my French, so no need to apologize.
Great rifle that will give great service. I have the older version (chrome lined 1/9 barrel) that I have a couple thousand rounds through and never had any issue with it.
My M&P MOE is much like my Glock, just shoots and shoots. You will love your new rifle.
For a good optic, look at a Burris AR 332. It has BDC, red or green reticle with various brightness levels, but also the reticle will stay black even if the battery goes dead so it is usable even with no battery. All in all, a pretty good optic for the money, $350 range here, but includes the mount which will also mount on your carrying handle if you want and battery.

Hello !
I've bought a Burris Four X scope 1-4x24 with reticule 4 and a red dot in the center.
It´s not the MTAC but the Four X, a scope for european market I think.
The mount is an American Défense Vortex QD, a really nice mount !
The rear sight is a KAC micro 200-600m.
