Did a quick search, but didn't find what I needed. Is there a parts schematic somewhere for the M&P 15 that shows part numbers and location of those parts? Didn't see one on the S&W website. Thanks for the help.

Im not sure exactly why youre looking for a schematic for just an MP15. From what I know all ARs are built to a Mil Spec so a schematic from any AR based rifle would work. I mean the parts from a Stag, RRA, and SW are all interchangable.

I got a 'Tek-Mat' (gun cleaning mat) with an exploded view/diagram of an AR with all the parts clearly named and labeled and how they fit together.

It's come in handy several times for me with my limited knowledge of the AR platform.

Thanks everyone. Was hoping since it is a S&W rifle I could order direct from them. I now see others would work though.

Sorry, I havent been back to this thread in a while. In answer to your question it depends on what your looking for. Ive bought parts from ebay, a sight and KNS pin set from Brownells and other things Ive found at local shops. I would say most parts are the same. I think the biggest difference in parts would be add ons like different grips, stocks, sights.

So why the @&$% can't I get a parts schematic for the M&P anywhere? Especially need it for the PSX.

Ya I hear you. I come from a motorcycle background. Riding and racing for years. When I need bike parts I'm use to looking at a parts schematic getting the part number and finding who has that part available and at the best price. Guess it doesn't really work that way with S&W M&P rifles. Was hoping to order Smith parts from Smith for my Smith rifle but ended up with generic stuff. Seems to be working fine, just feels weird.

That's one of the nice things about the MSR's. Just about everything (unlike bikes), IS interchangable. Never had any parts problems with the MSR's and finding "good" parts and prices.
