Default Tac Con 3mr trigger and a sport

Ordered a Tac Con 3mr trigger for the sport from the local gun shop. Hopefully it will be here in a few weeks. Anybody else going to try one of these out? I don't intend to melt down the barrel every time but it should be fun every once in awhile. Anybody else blowing the money on one of these triggers?

There have been quite a few negative reviews on this trigger.

I was hoping for better results but I think I'm going to go with the geissele sd3g instead, personally. Half the price and very highly rated.

I hope your experience is different.

Here's another, the guy shows/explains the theory on how it works (or, should work, anyway . Basically the same results as the video linked above, not very encouraging.

I second the recommendation for the Geissele SD3G, esp at half the cost. It's next on my list for my OR.

Looking forward to it. While I hope for your sake that the trigger works out well for you, I'm curious as to why you (and JaPes) seem to think that the negative publicicity which has come out since the SHOT show and is discussed/demonstrated in many YouTube videos, arf.com 300blk forum, and literally dozens of other forums will yield a different result in a sport?

Also, for reference, this forum has had several threads (again mostly negative) related to this trigger.

I myself was interested in the trigger when word first came out. I even posted on the 15-22 forum here and contacted the manufacturer re the trigger.

I read amazon reviews and will tend to buy a 3-5 star rated product over a 1-2 star product. This appears to be a 1-2 star product costing twice what a similar item costs that is a 4-5 star product.

So again, I'm curious where you think the sport (and m&p line of lowers) will succeed where other other lowers have not?

Everybody has an opinion and I will come to my own. I don't steer clear of things because of the negative publicity, if it does not perform well or at least decent I will voice my opinion and if it does well I will voice that....Can't be much worse then a bump stock. As in all things there will be a learning curve to it. Worst case scenario I wasted $495.00, Not the first time won't be the last.

I've tried almost every cleaning tool and solvent. I've tried odd parts including a hydraulic buffer and a FailZero BCG. In installed KNS precision anti rotation trigger pins for the heck of it. I've tried RRA 2- Stage national match and varmint triggers. I've tried light mounts, lasers, and other accessories. Sometimes you just have to try something out for yourself.

I'm just glad that it's someone's trying a new gizmo in their rifle, willing to post a review, and it's not me this time.

I have seen several reviews on the Tac Com trigger, and all were negative. On the positive side, a few reviewers stated that they think that the issue may be that there is a lot of special technique, to learning how to get the trigger to work as advertised. Most reviewers only spent a few hours trying to get it to fire bursts, with negative results. They stated the learning curve may take weeks to months, until you can get the correct trigger control to be able to fire any type of controlled bursts.

I use a SlideFire stock, and from the very first use, I was able to control 3-4 round bursts easily, or could easily empty a full mag in three seconds. At the full price of $350, the SlideStock is a pricy toy, but not as pricy as the Tac Com trigger, which is still unproven.

Well finally got my trigger yesterday and installed it. Went out in the back yard and started testing it out. With 5 30 round pmags and 1 10 round ready to go I started on the 10 rounder tried out the standard shooting position. In normal mode there is very little take up and what seems like a normal trigger that lets go at about 4 lbs ( guessing here I don't have a way to actually check). Then switching to rapid fire mode things got a little different. First few rounds I could get bursts of around 4 out there, as there is a little getting used to learning how to feather the trigger. But after the first 2 mags of trial and error and getting steadily better at the control I was able to come close to a full magazine drop. throughout the remainder of the 3 mags I was not able to complete a full dump of the gun..I would say its more of adapting to how the trigger works more then the trigger actually being the problem. All in all there was very little if any trigger slap in the rapid mode. I think with some more practice a full magazine dump could be achieved. Is it your Timney match quality? No not likely but hey it sure is fun.
