M&P 15 Sport bipod mount
I must be doing something wrong, I can't seem to find a solution for using my M&P 15 Sport with a bipod.
I ordered a Harris #2 adapter from Amazon since some of the reviews indicated it would work with the sport - it does not.
I ordered a quad rail from Amazon that according to several reviews was a drop-in replacement for the M&P 15 Sport - the product I received did not fit the sport.
What are some options that do work with the M&P 15 sport? I want to either use a Harris style bipod that I already have (swivel stud) or get a rail that fits and buy another bipod with a weaver mount. Help please.

I wanted to put a hand grip on my Sport which of course it will not accept. The gun shop sold me a Magpul MOE Hand Guard-Carbine which accepts the Magpul grip. Maybe something like this will accept a bi-pod. I don't know why they didn't put all the fore rails on the Sport like on my M&P 15=22

Because the Sport is a basic carbine and they have other models that have rails. Not everyone wants a quad rail on their rifle.
And you didn't need to buy a whole new handguard, there are accessory rails that mount through the vent holes on the stock handguard for mounting grips and bipods and other doo-dads.

You need the #5 for mounting the Harris to the stock Sport handguard, not #2.

I was at the local gun store yesterday with this exact same issue. They are usually very helpful, but had no solution on hand for bipodding my M&P 15 Sport.
My California compliant model has standard round rails, a sling swivel on the front, and a bayonet lug, if that makes any difference. It might be better to avoid attaching metal to metal due to heat issues, I would think.
So if I get a #5 adapter, I can use the Harris bipod. Okay.
But which Harris bipod? They have more than one. I don't want to go the online order route and then have to do an exchange.
Any advice, please?

If you watch the above video on Youtube instead of just in the post, he lists the bipod and adapter that he is using.
The bipod can be seen at Harris Bipods - HBLS Bipod
You will have to look at the specs, and decide which one you want. Looks like the models that end in "S" are ones that attach to a swivel stud.
