Truthfully, we are still in shock here. This is soooo unprecedented in the United States of America... even for a crazy place like Massachusetts.

Yes, we have a legislature, such as it is. They are out of session until Saturday. Haven't yet heard what they think of all this... but don't be surprised if the leadership lets the AG get away with it. It fits the agenda after all... even though the usurping of legislative power might have offended some lawmakers.

Given the cost, I don't think there is much chance of that!

I talked to my LGS Friday when I picked up my first AR, I mentioned prices creeping up lately, he said they never have and never will raise their prices because of an event, he said their suppliers haven't raised their prices, so the shops that are raising prices are taking advantage.

That's the truth!
Where I live in Cental La. there is 1 LGS in a 50-60 mile radius. This snake in the grass owner takes advantage of every little gun related news story just to give him a reason to jack up his prices.
I was in there yesterday see if he had a certain type of stainless steel cleaner (FLITZ). 3 gentlemen were just finishing up at the range and were looking at his inventory of rifles. One of them asked the owner why his AR prices were so high? The owner responded that the dealers are raising their prices so he was keeping in tune. Well, this gentleman just so happened to be a former STAG ARMS CSR and called BS to the owners reply! He was visiting a friend here in La. (one of the other shooters he was with) since he had just recently got laid off from STAG ARMS. He gave the owner a good tongue lashing about how dealers like him make a bad name for ALL LGS!
I "WAS" going to buy the FLITZ, but, will be much happier buying it at a gun store 50-60 miles away!

Got it. I would have been surprised if Atlantic Tactical's new, Safariland-imposed "no gun sales to civilians" policy was not uniform in all their stores.

Safariland made clear when they bought Atlantic Tactical that they were only doing so in order to qualify for large $$$ LEO gun contracts in the states in which the Atlantic Tactical stores were located. Apparently you must have a "brick and mortar" presence in these states in order to bid on these highly lucrative contracts.

They really didn't care a hoot about other cop business or about civilian business at all. Not enough profit they said. Too bad too because they could have been a price leader and huge success in civilian sales in my state (MA) but that wasn't their goal.
