Dust cover c clip

Are all the dust cover c clips the same I just noticed mine was gone and I wanna make sure their all the same size before I order a new one

I have no idea, when I first got the gun a couple weeks ago I noticed the clip was just slid over the pin and not in the Grove of it. So I put the clip back in the groves of the pin and I just noticed lastnight that it's now missing

I bought an assortment at Autozone for about $5.00. It had some pretty small ones...used one on my gun. Do not try to use an "E"-clip for a c-clip...it won't fit properly.

Sounds like the original C clip was not tight. You can probably get them anywhere for cheap. Maybe buy a few just in case? At least it's nothing serious. On a side note, maybe now is the time to change out the dust cover to something really cool. Most new dust covers come with a new C clip. Just a thought.

Yeah I've been thinking about going ahead and getting a new one like that instead of just the clip but I still haven't decided yet

I bought a new M$P Sport II mid July. I was having trouble closing the dust cover and thought I "could adjust it". Long story short I lost the C-clamp retaining ring. I called S&W and explained what happened. S&W looked up the part # (400720000) and told me they would mail me a new one. Less than a week later I received the envelope in the mail which contained 2 of the C-Clamp. I know a lot of people complain about their customer service but I have never received anything but great customer service from S&W!! Great company with great customer service!!
