They can be a little slow to respond/ship, but they are totally legit. I assembled an M4orgery from PSA parts last year and I would trust my life to that rifle. Stick with the Premium and Freedom line and you'll be G2G. I've heard some say to avoid the PTAC line but I can't comment to that as I have no experience with it.

I've only had a single encounter with PSA, and it went well. Here is a shortcut to my write up on my experience:

Good luck,

I have bought many items from them except ammo. Lowers, uppers, mags. Aways had good, fast service. No issue with any products. In fact some of their uppers are extremely good quality. Never any fitting issues either.

Well, I 'FINALLY' received an email today. They stated that they were going through a computer update, blah, blah, blah!
What I find strange is, I have been reading on several gun websites how members have ordered items from PSA in the last few weeks and have received their merchandise within a week.
I ordered my BCG on 8/4/16! And, I'm just getting an email? BS!
Some of you can take up for PSA and say I'm over reacting, I say if you were in my situation you would probably be feeling the same way!
If they didn't have it in stock, just send me an email or call me and let me know! Don't lie to me or totally ignore me!
This was my last order with PSA. There are too many other companies out there that are HONEST and WANT MY BUSINESS!

I love PSA. I recently placed an order for some 17 HMR (40 bucks/200 rounds shipped) on 8/5/16. I noticed it was in processing for a little over a week, so I emailed them and was sent a standard responce about the shipping software update not going as planned (posted earlier in the thread). Couple days later I received my shipping notice.
I don't get what all the fuss is about people being in such a rush for things. I worked with a coworker like that once, constantly checking on the status of his ordered stuff, it was annoying. People need to relax and have some patience.
On 8/12 I placed an order for a couple of the Bushnell scopes, they apparently are still in processing, they'll get here when they get here. Also just last night placed an order for a couple LPK's w/o FCG (their LPK's are genereally my favorite of the ones I've used).
Bought one of their premium BCG's, had an issue with it, determined the bolt wasn't right, also had a noticeably rough finish on it. Wasn't an issue exchaning the bolt, they covered shipping both ways.
So disabled1, I am in your situation, you (and this is just my humble opinion) are over reacting....

That's all well and good, but when you have companies like Primary Arms that are at least as well priced and ship the stuff to you same day you order then it sets the bar a little higher.
I still order from Palmetto State when they have something I want that is on offer, but even though I expect it now the wait is still a little irritating. What takes so long to stick a BCG in a box and post it?

Like, when you're speaking? That is what you were referring to, correct?
On a different note, PSA finally sent me a tracking number.

I have been looking at two orders, one 8-10 for ammo. and the other 8-12, for a BCG. Both have been saying "processing" for over a week. I have sent Palmetto two e-mails, they have ignored both of them.
Tonight I finally had my fill of this and cancelled my orders. I am giving them 24 hours to respond confirming the cancellation or I will cancel the orders with my credit card company.
This is no way to run a business!
I'll let you know how this plays out.

Rick, believe me, I DO KNOW what you're going through! After several phone calls to their sister stores, and some very nasty emails sent to them, I finally got a response! They were claiming the computer system had to be updated, blah, blah, blah............I told them how I had been reading past internet posts on how slow their shipping was, all the way back to 2013. I threw the nastiest language at them just to get a response. IT WORKED! My BCG will be at my front door this Monday. It only took 15 days for a response and 19 days to get it. SMFH!

I would agree that PSA is legit. However, in my sole experience with them, their customer service was terrible. My first order was a case of ammo. UPS lost it. Of course, that's not PSA's fault unless it was packaged or labeled incorrectly. Still, working through it with PSA was excruciating. Very pleasant people on the phone, but they did not follow through with their promises. It took repeated phone calls to them and I spent a lot of time on hold waiting for them to answer their phone. I'll pay more, somewhere else for adequate customer service.
The rest of the story: I finally got PSA to refund my money and then about 10 days later UPS found my package. A 40 lb case of ammo, and they lost it? UPS tried to deliver to my house without advising me. I wasn't home and UPS wanted a signature. They didn't leave a note or anything. Seeing truck tracks in the drive, I checked online and found the 40 lb case of ammo was being sent back to the shipper. Had I been home to receive the shipment, I'd have been back on hold with PSA trying to pay them for a lost shipment they already refunded. I can only imagine the customer service nightmare trying to do that!
UPS's mess-up not withstanding, based on the way PSA handled things, I doubt I'll buy from PSA again.

Order placesd 9/2 arrived at my FFL on 9/8. Picked it up today. Small blem mark where a punch or something metal nicked the rear corner of the magwell. I only noticed it because it was shiny. Nothing that couldn't happen during your avg range session. Birchwood Casey super black pen made it disappear for now.

Every simple part I look for is always still out of stock., upper accessories, optics, everything. I gave up and ordered from Primary Arms and got everything a few days later.
Even the Aimpoint/Magpul deal that was never in stock is still out of stock.
****** company in my personal experience.

I completely disagree that it is a ****** company. They just have a large following and their deals are limited quantity. If you check the site often or get their emails you can catch the deals.
I like Primary Arms too but they are almost always more expensive for similar or the exact product. If you scroll through Primary Arms site they are also out of stock on a ton of products. It happens to everyone.

I ordered a 'blem' lower with magpul furniture for their labor day sale. I was contacted by 'compliance' asking for my LGS FFL paperwork. LGS owner had previously stated that PSA indeed had it on file before I placed the order. Had no problem faxing it to them and they responded promptly after I asked if they had received the proper information. The item is still 'pending'. Which I guess 7-10 days is normal processing time for them. Hopefully I get it before the month is up! Will post back with full experience later.

Right now, the only thing being out of stock on all the good stuff tells you - is where we all go to shop first

Were they the DH mags? I ordered two separate orders over Labor Day weekend and received shipping notices on both yesterday and Wednesday. Never gotten it that quick.

I bought a PSA AR-15 a couple of years ago and am happy with it. I have one of the ones with an FNH barrel and magpul stock. In all it was only $633 with a blem that I still haven't found yet. MrGunsNGear highly recommends them. They aren't the quickest and most responsive, but no business is perfect and I am glad their strength is building quality ARs for less.

Palmetto State Armory...legit?
Sounds like some folks have nothing better to do than make an order and then sit in front of their computer and hit refresh on the order page.
They have great deals to offer you and you can best offer yourself a little patience. A slight variation on an old saying. You can have it cheap, good quality or fast. Pick two.

The one's I ordered were D&H. I got notification yesterday that they were shipped. So, the processing estimate time seems to be pretty accurate.

Well it seems divided good and bad 50/50. Enough bad for me not to deal with them again. I'd rather pay a little extra and have my item that week than wait 2-3 months or more.
I get "good deals sell out quickly" but these guys are ALWAYS out of stock on MANY pieces. Not all are smoking deals, just check the optics. Half of the items are OOS and have been since I posted this thread. Proof is in the pudding.
Mods, time to lock the thread as we have discussed this to death now. I appreciate everyone's input!

They sell a ton of stuff that isn't a 'good deal', most of the good deal stuff that people are willing to waiting on are AR15 related parts (mostly PSA branded stuff) and ammo bundles. The rest, you could pretty much find a better deal elsewhere. Although I did snag a 10/22TD in a sale flyer at a hell of a price, and anything that requires an FFL transfer is handled at a different warehouse and sent out promptly, as opposed to the hit or miss shipping on their other items.
They've got good stuff, just depends on your patience or need at a particular time I reckon.

Agree 100%. They have great sale pricing on ammo, AR15 parts, sometimes handguns and other rifles but for the most part the best deals are their branded AR15 parts. On my last order I noticed that the FFL parts left faster than the non-FFL parts. It was not an issue for me but it is worth noting.
Just received a premium BCG with 120 rounds of Federal 556 for $111 delivered. That is basically getting the 120 rounds for $10 considering they sell the bolt alone for $89. I just have to decide which upper I want to get because I got a complete lower the same day for $189. I am not in a rush to assemble this rifle. I have others in the safe so if it takes some time for the right upper to be in stock it does not bother me.
I think I am going to get a 18" Wylde chamber upper with a 1/8 or 1/7 twist. Should be able to get one in the $300 range from PSA if I take my time.
I understand that some people do not like to wait but if you are patient you can out together some nice rifles.

Here is my budget rifle mainly out of PSA parts. A PSA complete lower with a STR Magpul Stock. PSA Full Auto Bolt with a BCM Charging handle, 18" Rifle Length .223 Wylde 1:7 Stainless 15" Keymod Upper, Primary Arms Dot on a 1/3 riser & Aero H&K style BUIS sights.
I had the charging handle in the parts bin but the rest cost me a total of $812.00 Hoping to get to the range tomorrow.

Well PSA's QC failed on this one. Got to the range to zero in my rifle and within a few rounds I noticed that the grips was moving a bit. There was a lot of play in the grip so I took the cover off Moe grip so I could tighten the grip screw and to my surprise there was no grip screw.
So a call to PSA resulted in a grip screw, selector detent and spring being sent to me. I am not happy but at least this is not my only rifle.
I am a fan of PSA but this was a pretty bad QC miss IMHO. The next time I get anything from them I am going to go over it with a fine toothed comb before heading to the range. This is not an unforgivable sin but throws some doubt on their overall QC.
That said the rifle functioned 100% even without the grip screw. I am one to give credit where and when it is deserved but in this case PSA has harmed their rep in my eyes. It is not that I will never purchase on of their products again but when I do I will go over it with a fine toothed comb.

Finally picked up my 'blem' complete lower today. Completely satisfied with it. I found two small blems on it that most would not notice. By the time it makes it n the field a few times it'll have some wear on it anyways. All in all pretty happy with the experience but shipping could have been a not swifter but was within their 5-7 day processing range.

Up until my last 2 orders this was also my impression of PSA.

PSA is a REAL company that supplies good stuff at good prices and sometimes great prices. They ship promptly and don't charge too much.

Not having half their advertised product in SUPPLY is what made my mind up to take my business elsewhere. I check back just to get a chuckle at how many things (red dots, magazines etc) are STILL "out of stock". After months, this is just silly.

I'm not interested in what Palmetto doesn't have in stock nor what they have in stock that I don't want. What I like Palmetto for is what they have in stock that I want at a lower delivered price than what can be easily found elsewhere. I click the buy button. Works for me.

I have ordered from them a few times. Ship times were long, but my last order arrived in 6 days...getting better. I do wonder how they can advertise D&H mags for $6.99 for a weekend deal on Friday, be sold out on Saturday morning, but be back in stock Monday morning for $8.99. Trying to call if you have a problem is impossible, waited for a rep for 45 mins then gave up. Two emails are still unanswered 4 days later. They do have some good sales, but hope you never need to contact them. Even emails go unanswered.

The craziest thing happened to me with my recent order from them. On Monday I ordered 5 mags and 500 rds of ammo and less than 24 hrs on Tuesday morning I had a shipping notice. Not counting on that happening twice haha, but it would be nice if it was a new norm.

Rip Off ALERT
Be careful I sent them $280 and 2 days later some guy in a brown truck left loose packed 223 rnds outside my front door. I didn't count them but the look like about 1,000 and a funny looking d-60 mag.

And that's your prerogative.
On the OTHER hand, I AM interested in the parts that I want at even the same price that ARE available elsewhere. The proof is in the pudding, half the people that replied have had issues. That's not customer service worth bragging on period.
To back up what I say, here's a few examples from just this morning. I wanted to buy a Vortex Strike Fire with the red/green dot last month. "Temporarily out of stock" August 17 so I went and bought one from Gander Mountain a week later (price matched). Sept 30 (today) still OOS:
Vortex StrikeFire Red/Green Dot Optic
I decided to modify my new Smith AR, so I needed a few dinky parts, an Odin Works gas block ($25 part) and a Midwest Industries SS-12 hand rail (another common part). Out of stock 2 months ago so I bought both from Primary Arms, had em in 2 days. STILL OOS today:
Odin Works Low Profile Gas Block
MI 12" Gen2 SS-Series Free Float Rail | Palmetto State Armory
I purchased a Kimber Ultra Carry II from Whittaker's two weeks later. OOS on PSA then, and as of Sept 30, STILL OOS:
Kimber Ultra Carry II - 3200061
On a related note, Kimber only gives you one magazine so last week I picked up one from MidwayUSA, in stock and in my hands in 2 days. I checked PSA, guess what? OOS then and now:
Kimber Magazine: 1911 Compact/Ultra: 45 Auto/ACP:7rd Capacity: SS KimPro - 1100813A
I agree with what you say, yes it's nice to be able to buy from them at a lower price on parts you want. See the other side here, the parts MANY of us want, quite a few common items that should be in stock or back in stock within a week, are NOT in stock for MONTHS. With all due respect, you can't deny the facts. There they are clear as day.

So what?
When I buy a complete lower from Palmetto for the fantastic low price of $139 free shipping or 200rds of .308 168gr Federal GMM for an excellent price of $199 free shipping, the 'fact' that they (or any other Net vendor) don't have a Kimber Ultra in stock means absolutely nothing to the purchase at hand. Why should it? Don't buy something at a great price because some other unrelated product(s) isn't in stock? What logic or practical application are you attempting to convey with your 'facts'?
It's just a click of a mouse button... I don't have to walk 30 miles to Palmetto or any other Net vendor to find out they do/don't have something that I want to buy at the right price, do you? I really don't get all the fuss.

I go back to my previous post. The REASON they're OOS on so many things is because most folks find that the very best deals on the best stuff are to be found here. Not in stock? Duh, because we've already been there and got it before you did.
Seems pretty legit to me.

Like just recently. They had their $49.95 trigger on sale for $24.95. By the time I clicked onto it, it was OOS! But, I put it on my wait list. That trigger is equivalent to the BMC PNT trigger, which is in my Sport 1.

You remind me of my dad. Old and set in his ways, never wrong and incapable of accepting another person's view. He will argue with a stump. I love him anyways so I have learned when to walk away and let him win.
Ok you are right, I am wrong. End of thread hopefully?

Really, I didn't consider your postings as that from a stump... well maybe a little.
Sure, we'll close it.
Cheers.
