Default S&W M&P Sport with 5R rifling

Guys, as much as I hate to do it, I need to raise some cash and the Smith Sport looks like the gun to go. Mine is an original with the 5R rifling and 1:8 twist. Any ideas on value on a site like gunbroker? I have looked and can only find history on the Sport II. Would they be about the same or would they be different due to the changes made? Mine is like new and stock in every way. I haven't done anything but sight it in and put a sling on it. Thanks for your help.

Hard to say... Many folks will pass on it because of the lack of forward assist and ejection port cover. I bet it would sell lower than the Sport II, unless you wait for that buyer that must have the 1:8 5R barrel...

The 5R 1 in 8 twist and in new condition might bring a fair price to someone that considers this package a strong point. Not having the forward assist or dust cover is not that important to someone wanting that set up for target/competition. Even so it would be hard to get your money back in todays market.
I also have the early Sport and would not sell it because it shoots so well.

I have seen the Sport II on sale for $459, so you might need to adjust from there.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll take a big hit if I sell now.
