Bolt Carrier
Just saw a video on the making of the 15 Sport2. It was showing a spring installed in the Bolt Carrier. Mine does not have a spring. Was this a change?

Are you sure that wasn't a M&P 15-22 bolt you were looking at?

Could you post the video so we can see what you are asking about? Agree with Mark, sounds like a .22lr conversion bolt.

To my knowledge the only spring in a standard .223/5.56 BCG is the extractor spring.

These are in the bolt, not the carrier.

An AR15 Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) consists of a few different parts. The Bolt itself (along with it's parts) fits into the Bolt Carrier to complete the Bolt Carrier Group. This diagram should help explain it;

Excellent picture Eric300. It shows the two springs in the bolt and that there are none in the carrier.

Thanks. I guess about the only thing that it doesn't show are the 2 hex head bolts that attach the gas key to the carrier.
