So I have read everyone's opinions on the trigger and I just got one of my own. Can I dry fire it until the trigger smooths out? I mean I don't have the $$ to take it out every weekend and put a couple of hundred rounds down the pipe, but will it hurt the pistol if I say, dry fire it 100 times every day? Should I invest in Snap Caps and reload the 5 every time?

Im no expert... but these guns are made to be dry fired. This should be a good question to be answered. i had the same question myself as far as how long u could dry fire before problems occures

A: Yes, except for the .22 caliber pistols which includes models 22A, 22S, 422, 2206, 2214, 2213 and 41.

.22 caliber revolvers such as models 17, 43, 63, 317 and 617 also should not be dry fired.

Q: Why can't I dry fire my .22 pistol or revolver?

A: Dry firing a S&W .22 pistol or revolver will cause damage to the firing pin.

Dryfire it to your heart's content. Also, keep in mind that the Sigma has a very short reset. You will only need to move the slide about 1/4" to the rear to reset the trigger, rather than racking it all the way back.

I've dry fired mine several hundred times at least. The trigger has smoothed out a LOT.
