Generic Holster Size?
What size is a Sigma considered when buying a generic holster? Full Size? Medium? Compact? I had thought it was a medium size autoloader, or compact (comparing it to a Glock 19 compact as opposed the Glock 17 full size) I ordered a couple of generic holsters online (one was for a compact autoloader up to a 4” barrel and the other was said to fit a 3-4” medium size autoloader.) Both holsters are what I consider a tight fit if not too small and I think I would have been better off buying for a large full size 4-5” autoloader.

I can't offer any help, but I will benefit from the post as I am about to make the same purchase. Please keep us posted with what you end up with. Thanks.

Whatever size fits the Glock 17 will work just fine. I bought one from Amazon that was listed for the Sigma, but my 17 appears to be the same size.
However, I have a suggestion that will save you some cash, if all you're wanting is just a generic nylon holster. Another member posted this a while back. Go to WalMart and look in the sporting goods section for a holster for Crossman air pistol. It's around $6 and I swear it's the same thing I got from Amazon for around $30. Even has the mag pouch. Not the best by any means, but the price is right and it's just fine for the range and occasional carry, or leaving between the seat of your vehicle. Covers the trigger guard nicely, too. HTH

Sigmas are full size, but I would discourage you strongly from carrying it in a "generic sock." The FOBUS HK-1 holster is an exact fit and cheap. For more $ you can get a blade tech.

For a range holster the fobus is great. It's what I use for my matches to. I have the double mag holster to and works great.
I paid 37.99 both both.

I do have a Foubus HK1 paddle holster and that is a great holster for the Sigma. It is one of my favorite for an OWB holster.
The holsters I was having problems fitting were a Uncle Mikes #1 shoulder holster which was supposed to fit a 3-4” medium semi-auto. The Sigma will fit it, but it only covers about 1/2 the trigger guard and feels unsecure without the strap around the gun. I also have an Uncle Mikes #2 that is for supposed to be for a 4” revolver that is a better fit for my Sigma I feel. (go figure?) I got them cheap on eBay, but like buying clothes it is difficult to get a good fit without trying them on first. I found a Galls leather holster (for cheap also) said to fit a Glock 19 that turned out to be too small for the Sigma.
I’m considering a nice IWB style holster next, but without finding a holster specifically made to fit a Sigma, I think I need to be looking at holsters for full size pistols with 4-5” barrels. I have a Barsony (nylon sock) IWB holster with a wire clip that is a good fit and confortable to wear, but not easy to reholster once the gun is out.

I carry my SW40VE IWB in a lined cordura holster I bought off ebay, listed as fitting a sigma. It works great, retains on the belt/waistband great and is comfortable to wear. OWB I carry in a Don Humer J.I.T. slide I bought off ebay, listed as being for a medium frame and it fits perfect. I also have a pancake style that was listed as being for a Hi Point C9 and it fits good as well. Also bought an RSR Defense kydex one that is similar to the Serpa, was for the M&P but all I had to do was dremel down a ridge in the trigger guard area of the holster so that the Sigma fit and retained perfect. I never cared for the older Fobus, sometimes retention was too good, difficult to get the pistol out without pulling the whole dang thing off. New ones I see have an adjustable retention, so I guess those would be allright.

you may still be able to use a too tight holster, try this, wrap about 4 or 5 turns of saran wrap around your gun and then just force it into the holster, you might have to hit the muzzle end of the holster to cram it in there, let it set overnight then remove the saran wrap and try it

+1 on the Air Pistol holster!!
While getting groceries I made my normal ammo sweep.
I remembered this post and took a peek at the holster.
At $5 if it works a bit better than the bag I carried it out in its worth the money!
Here is a pic with mag!
The belt loop is velcro so you don't have to undo belt to remove!
Nothing special, but totally functional!
Thanks for the tip rmcky! ..... I guess it is the lighting or the cell ph camera, the holster is not purple! It is black!

Anything that will fit an MP .40 will fit a sw40ve. I just picked up a black hawk serpa and it is made for the mp...fits like a glove. As far as generic IWB Blackhawk has one that is a fabric material that fits the sigma. It is the size 12 holster. I believe it is for 4" barrels.
