The SW9E sees the light of day
So I bought an SW9E back in late December '09, performed what I consider to be a basic Sigma trigger job, put around 200 rounds through it and put it in the safe. There it sat. I like the gun, but I have several others and tend to shoot most what I carry and use for HD. Saturday we (the wife and one of the kids) decide we need to go out shooting the .22's. For kicks I bring along the SW9E and an assortment of ammo. After putting many tiny holes in targets it was time for the SW9E to see the light of day again. I started out with a few mags of WWB, then the wife put a few mags through. Pretty soon I realize we have gone through almost 200 rounds of FMJ. Just for fun I decided to shoot off a few mags of +P then a few mags of +P+. 300 rounds or so with no issues or malfunctions of any kind. Not too bad. What surprised me was the accuracy I was able to achieve after a couple mags of acclimation. Nice tight groups with slow aimed fire and good 2 and 3 shot strings when I sped things up. Overall I was pretty impressed with the SW9E. It is every bit as great of gun as my (former) SW9VE with the added benefit of Melonite. My wife was impressed too. Enough so that she has declared the SW9E her new range gun. But that's okay because she never goes to the range without me and now I have space in my safe for an SD9.

Oh no.......there are many guns that just sit there and keep each other company. Maybe too many. Every once in awhile I think about selling a few just to buy more ammo!

True that. Now if I can just get the daughters to go out and actually shoot. They like to watch but never want to pull the trigger. If only I could combine shooting with texting, then I could get them interested (the older ones anyway).

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. I can see it now. The all new Iphone with 2 point sling and 6 point stock with built in tacticacool flashlight.
