Default Sigma series SW380 opinions?

At the local shop there's a used SW380 for right around a buck fifty.
Being that it doesn't look nearly as nice as any of my revolvers I wanted to hear if this was a well priced pocket pistol or just another saturday night special?

I bought one of the first and still have it. After a quick trip back, it became reliable.
Since the slide is zinc, it is not made for heavy use, and is no longer factory repairable; they'll just replace it with something else.
I sometimes carry mine as a BUG, but seldom shoot it. It works.

Run. Don't look back. I've broken two with ball ammo.

I have the S&W 9MM version. Aside from the heavy recoil, it has been a great little shooter.

No, don't remember what the owner told me; at least a couple of years ago.

I am one of the few fans of the SW380 - very light, concealable and perfectly reliable. I owned a SW9M plagued with light primer strikes. It was sent back to S&W - never to be seen again. It was replaced with a SW9VE - nice but hardly a pocket pistol. There is a thread somewhere on this forum where a guy talked S&W into replacing his SW9M with a 908.

I picked one up a few months ago for 200 that's looked like it had very few rounds through it. I took it to the range and put about 50 rounds of various ammo through it with out a single problem. The only complaint I have is the slide not locking back on the last round but that seems pretty normal for most pocket 380's. I own 5 small 380's and only the Sig and Taurus lock open the Smith Rugar and Diamondback all do not. For a buck fifty I would snag it up. Or give me the shops info and I'll take it off there hands :-). I am a fan of the sigma line and I'm currently looking for another Gray Sigma 9V

Default I like my S&W Sigma 380

I've owned one since about 1997 and still carry it often. However, I shoot it only once or twice a year. When it wears out, I'll probably replace it with the Bodyguard 380. (I would pay about $250 for a like-new one, but I don't think I would buy one heavily used - as someone else said, the slide was not designed to last very long.)

Buy it, shoot it, break it, send it in, they will replace it with something that costs more than a buck fifty.
A win win situation.
