Default My Very Own SW40VE

Well after 2 trips to Cabela's this weekend I finally was able to pick up my own!~ Friday The State's background check system was down so had to wait till this morning to give it another try... They had it ready for me to go and after the paperwork was through the system, we were walking out with a new Crosman air rifle for my little man and a new Sigma for me. Got the Bulldog holster with thumb break for now but I'm sure I'll get a new one once I decide on a laser.

Headed to the range later this week so I will post my thoughts on this firearm in a MINE version!~ I loved testing it out so I'm sure I will love my own too... Thanks everyone for all the great information and posts... Happy shooting!~

Went to the Range today and put 170 rounds through it with not a single issue! Fired exactly as I expected it to with Winchester FMJ 180gr(100). I also used the Range choice which was Federal American Eagle 180gr(50). I put a box of Hornady 165gr FTX Critical Defense through it as well(20), and had no problems with jamming or misfiring.

Simply put, I think this gun is awesome! I thought it had minimal kick and with holding and breathing and taking my time I did very well. I'm sure that with more practice it will be just as comfortable to shoot as my 9mm. The trigger pull is fine and I think highly overrated as an "issue". If you are used to something loose than you will notice a difference, but after a magazine or 2 it really was never an issue for me.

Thanks for reading and Happy Shooting!~

Welcome to the world of satisfied 40VE owners. I like the 180s for most of my shooting. Haven't tried the Hornady Critical Defense, but that's what I'd put in it when I'm ready to use it for HD or SD. Not many SD rounds are legal in NJ. I haven't broken mine in sufficiently yet and I've got others to do the HD and SD job, so no big deal.

It's only gonna get better the more you shoot it. Have fun.

I love my SW40VE. It was my first carry gun and I used it many times in IDPA. I can't describe it, but of the two guns I alternate carrying [Ruger SR9c which I also love] I just feel safer with the Sigma. 14 rounds of .40 cal in a DAO automatic. What's not to like? I admit, the gun can be snappy if you don't shoot it right, but it is not any thing like a .44 mag.

Took it to the range again today and shot off another 100 rounds of Winchester and 50 of the Hornandy and not a single issue, just as smooth and steady as the first round. I think I got the hang of the power on this firearm now too because my groupings are getting even closer... Very excited to be comfortable enough to use this as my CC firearm after shooting the JHP rounds though it and getting nicer groups... Happy Shooting!~

After doing tons of reading on the internet and reading the pros and cons of the Sigma, I got one a couple of days ago. I won't be able to shoot it for a couple of days, but being a revolver guy, the trigger complaints don't worry me...I love the trigger on my 442 j-frame. I'm already excited about it.

Hey Warr.... It's a GREAT Firearm... I was a little nervous from all the snap talk on it that I found but after testing it out and then making the purchase of it for myself, I have NO complaints. It's very accurate and the trigger pull is fine. Sure there are lighter ones but it's all what you get used to and for concealed carry I am getting very comfortable with this on my hip... Nice Choice... Congratulations!! Happy Shooting!~
