The NDZ bar is stainless, not chrome and is laser cut, very high quality.

It's just .98 mm longer than stock but made a great difference for me, the only mod on my SD9VE.

I do think, however, that after long use, I could go back to stock easily. I think I got the hang of it!

[Just for the record, NDZ calls their part "Extended Slide Lock Lever Stainless Steel"] on the package.

Once you get the hang of it, you wonder why it was ever a problem.

I have the Galloway one in mine and absolutely love it. Since S&W didn't put the grooves in the frame like they had on the Sigma, this little replacement part does wonders in making it easier to field strip our pistols.

Matt

One thing that worked just fine for me, before I installed the NDZ part, was to put a piece of cloth over the area. I agree that it is a hassle for us older folks, though.

I don't do it too often, so it usually takes me a Few tries to field strip the pistol. It's strangely satisfying when I do advance the slide forward, heh. Feels like a magic trick.

Actually it's just a matter of timing and you actually don't have to lift the bar up very far, and don't have to hold it up very long if you release the slide just as soon as the bar is up. When I first started it I was reading the book, moving the slide back much more than required, etc.

Yes, it's really like learning a small magic trick. Now an automatic process.
