Default SD mags

Do the SD mags fit in the SW40Es?

I need a couple 10 rounders and can't find any.

Thanks

The SD mags I ordered from Greg Cote LLC fit my SW40VE. They were 14 round mags.

While looking for extra SD9 Magazines I noticed the magazine floorplates are different between SW9 & SD9
Just something I noticed
19357 Magazine SW9 Floor Plate has a more tapered front & indentations on the bottom
19925 Magazine SD9 Floor Plate is rounded & fits the pistol more smoothly toward the front

Both appear interchangeable

Yes, the Sigma mags do fit the SDs and vice versa. The original Sigma F (full size 4.5" bbl) guns had an extended base that held 15 in the 40 and 17 in the 9. The mag bodies themselves were a tad longer. Then they came out with the Sigma C (compact 4" bbl) that had 14 and 16 respectively. S&W dropped the full size line and went with the 4" bbl after the 1st iteration. I have the 15 round mags that I use in both Sigma and SD 40 and 17 round mags in my SD9. I have found sometimes the base on the higher cap mag makes it a tight fit in the SD series, you have to push it in a little harder to get it to lock in. An easy fix would be to remove the base and sand a tad off the top of the base so it doesn't hit the frame. I haven't done this mod as mine will go in without too much force.

The best I can tell, the mag bodies for the older Sigma 14/16 round mags are identical to the new SD mags, just a different floor plate.

On a side note, the 40 mags will not go in a 9mm frame. And the 9mm mags are thinner and will wobble if you insert in a 40 frame. Also, the 9mm mag and frame has a groove for the 9mm the 40 does not.

Default SD Magazines SD9

Went bye a Pawn Shop in Louisville this morning & they had SD9VEs & SD40VEs for $399ea USED

I looked behind the counter & saw a case with several different gun manufacturers names & one was marked S&W & asked to see what was inside.. Magazines..
They had SW9 SD9 & SD40 + some unknown double stack 45 magazines
Bought one of the SD9 magazines for $28 which is all but new
I will NOTE: that all three I have have an H on the magazine body
Got an extra box of SD 9mm & am going to load the SD9 up & put it into service even though I haven't tested it YET!!
Will just have to say after looking at the pictures I posted & reading what rosewood posted I was informed & now the Pawn Broker is too, He marked the SW9 SD9 & SD40 ones we looked at with stickers so others there will know what they are for.

I don't believe the Mec-Gar magazines are marked. The M is more likely Metalcraft. S&W uses Metalcraft, Mec-Gar and Checkmate as OEM suppliers. The 1911 magazines I have marked as Colt are marked with an M on the base-plate for Metalcraft per information I received on the Colt forum.
