Today I brought out my Colt Vest Pocket M1908 in 25acp. I like to shoot it at least once a year and today was that day. It was made in 1922 and came with 2 original Colt cyanide treated magazines. The tiny Colt still has all its original case colors on the trigger, thumb safety and grip safety and is in excellent original condition. The little Colt has never failed to go bang and has never jammed in the 35 years I have owned it The target below was shot at 15 feet but remember, this model has no real sights - just a "sighting tunnel" with a tiny spec of a front sight that can not be seen down range.
The other target I shot was from my friend's Baby Browning which he brought because I told him I was bringing my Colt. Both pistols are chambered in 25acp. The Baby Browning has basically useless sights as well. The Baby is so small that the slide recoiling tore up the web of my hand. On the other hand, the Colt was a pleasure to shoot. I snapped a quick picture just before putting it back in the safe. I sold my own Baby Browning many years ago because for my hands it is just TOO small. The Colt is at least shootable. We each went through a 50 round box and then pulled out some target revolvers for the rest of the day's shooting. I shot one of my M18's.
I never had any practical purpose or use for this gun, I just bought it to sort of complete my collection of Colt's bigger brothers like the M1903 (32 acp) and the M1908 (M) in 380 acp. We had a lot of fun shooting these 100+ year old guns!
