Brough my USGI - WW2 era Colt 1911 to the range this morning

Remember..... most large agency's, Armed Forces, Law Enforcement etc. must "dumb down" their weapons to the lowest common denominator.
That is why revolvers were King for so many decades in Law Enforcement.

The switch to pistols are part of the Law Enforcement Industrial Complex. Look at all the changes in the last 30 years and none in the previous 70+ years. Agencies switching Duty Firearms every few years.

Glad to see there are other shooters who still treasure the old M1911....
I've got one I bought at an estate sale, a while back....An old WW1 model that came out of the Colt factory just a few weeks after the Armistice. Other than replacing the trigger (the one installed had problems with letting magazines pass through, so I bought another trigger and polished it to proper fit) and replacing the Firing Pin Spring with a Wollf spring, I haven't done much to it. Really one of my favorites, and I trust its function even after 107 years....
