Default is the 10mm gone?

Even if most forums and magazines have already gone through this. Seems that most people say that the 10mm is no longer interesting, only perhaps for collection!
I would like you to share your comments on the 10mm, if really someone still is using it and for what purpose? What about the S&W Model 1006, are they in use or to cumbersome?
