Default Warrenty on my 4506

I have a 4506 and I know they are out of production, but how does the warranty work? If something goes wrong on it, can I still send it in?

Yes, you can send it to S&W for service. S&W is great in that they will service just about anything they ever made (for example, try getting Panasonic to service a radio they made just five years ago - ain't gonna' happen!)

However, will they cover the repairs under warranty (i.e., for free)? Most likely not unless the issue is directly related to a manufacturing defect or safety recall.

I just got my 4516 back from the factory. They replaced the ejector and prior to that, they replaced the extractor, both at no charge.

Up until a couple of years ago S&W was still making 4506's for Law Enforcement orders. Spare parts won't be a problem for some time. Regards 18DAI.

Slug, I sent my 4506 in this year for work. It was not extracting a spent shell on occasion. Be sure you write them first explaining the problem. They will then send you a UPS preprinted label with a return authorization number. I sent mine in with the preprinted label, and got it back all in less than one week and NO CHARGE. They fixed it too and it shoots now without a hitch.
