Default 3rd generation smith dao autos

specifically, the "older" 3rd gen guns such as the 4043.

been seeing various leo trade-ins on the net. Is this trigger pull similar to the DAK system in sigs as far as travel and weight?

i realize there is no 2nd strike capability on the smith compared to the dak. Just wondering if pull/travel is more close to the dak than other traditional hammer fired dao systems such as the beretta "D" series in the 96.

I have not fired a DAK, but can tell you my 4056 (DAO 40 steel frame) is very smooth and light. Much easier than say my 4506 on first round or older 220 on first round.

Not an expert, but the only thing the DAK trigger has in common with any standard DAO trigger is the one trigger pull does it all. The systems are completely different. i Had a 5946 issued to me once, and I much prefer a standard 5906 (I have a 5903). The DAK supposedly is much lighter and smoother than any DAO.

The DAK actually has too different trigger pulls, one precocked like the Smith DAO's, the other full stroke like a Beretta D model. The H&K LEM module is also very similar to the Smith. The interesting part is that Smith has been using the precocked DAO since 1990, the other just recently found out how great it is.
