Default TSW Rail

I have a 5906TSW that has a loose rail. It doesn't get shot a lot, but the loose rail is annoying. I prefer the rail to the non-rail and want to keep it, especially as I do have an older, non-TSW 5906.

What is the process for tightening up the rail. I have heard that they are rivets holding the rail on. So they must be under the epoxy?

How do I do this?

If it's riveted , I would first take the slide off . Try moving the rail while looking at the opposite side of the rivet , the tail . If the rivets are moving , you can try peening them with a hammer and punch . Smack the tail of the rivet withe punch , using a punch about the same size as the rivet .

If that doesn't work , you can drill the rivets out and get new ones . I would contact S&W and ask about them . If they don't have them try Numrich or other parts shops .

You can use a hydraulic press and simply press the rivets until they are tight again. I did this with my brinks 5946TSW.
