Default M&P 45 problem

I just got home with my M&P45 that I bought from a gentelman here. It's two years old and never fired due to a heart attack. So I'm having a problem breaking it down, I'm rotating the take down lever and pulling the slide forword but it won't come off. Also I'm turning the frame tool 1/4 turn but it won't pull out. Any advice.

Thanks, Mel

YouTube - how to field strip M&P 9mm

Frame tool will come out,if its new they are harder to get out, watch the video The Lever he pushes down with the tool is yellow in color and only goes down a bit and stops, this is so you dont have to pull the trigger like a Glock to get the slide off...Hope this helps

41,
just a suggestion, but you might want to use something else other than the frame tool when you break the M&P down. I am told that if you continually pull this out and reinsert it, it will evenutally loosen, and that seems to make sense. Leave the frame tool in place. It is not required to be removed in order to field strip the gun, but it also holds the grips secure. Use the fingernail of your pinky, or the tip of your wire cleaning brush, or something similar.
