The two factory springs supplied with the 4506 and 4506-1 were, as stated above, 10# and 14#.
List of factory springs:
4506 (and the old 645) - 14#
4566 - 17#
4576 - 17#
1066 - 17#
1076 - 17#
1006 - 18#
I use these springs in my big boys:
4506-1, 645 - Wolff 16#
4566, 4576, 1066, 1076 - Wolff 19#
1006 - Wolff 20#
The above pistols function perfectly and eject spent cases right where they should. However, I don't shoot reduced power loads. Then again, I don't shoot +P loads either.
In fact, except for my S&W pistols that use the dual spring sets (inner and outer), I use Wolff extra power springs (not over +2#) in all my S&W 2nd and 3rd generation pistols (20 of them).
