I've owned a 61-3 for many years and have no complaints whatsoever.
It's my go to the store for gas gun, I did have to adjust the tension on the safety as it would drop to the fire position on its own.
Mine is the most reliable small frame 22 I've owned and plan on keeping it. Parts are a little hard to find but GunBroker has parts kits every now and again for decent prices.
The under barrel design was carried through to quite a few Smith models with a modicum of success. The design lends itself to being a suppressor host, being the barrel location.
I believe these guns were only made for 3-4 years and may at some point become collectible. My advice is hold on to it and have fun shooting it...
