I have just won and am anxiously waiting on a S&W 1911 9mm Pro.

No issues just want to expand my knowledge!

I have asked this question on another forum with no replies.

My question is what is a 'Factory Demo' model.

Desirability of a gun made in Springfield Mass over one this wasn't?.

The seller states
"S&W Pro Series 1911 9mm pistol. Less than 200 rounds shot through it......made in Springfield, Mass., before S&W moved......was a new "factory demo model."

This is going to be shooter 20,000---25,000 rounds a year.
No photos as the gun has not arrived.

I have been looking for one of those for quite a while.

As I normally shoot a Glock 35 in ESP/IDPA I have been wanting to try one of these.

All the reports on this pistol that I have read have been great

My normal EDC is a Kimber Tactial Pro in .45 ACP or a Colt XSE LW Commander in .45 ACP. I was wanting to stay with the same type of platform EDC/IDPA.

My have been one used for display, like at the NRA convention or SHOT show.

The Pro Series as well as the 9mm 1911 model haven't been out all that long, I'm not sure how long production has been coming out of Maine. I can't imagine one being more valuable then the other. "Factory Demo" can have several meanings, most offen sales reps or show samples.

I've had my local dealer trying to track down the adjustable sight version of this gun me. It's been two months and no luck. What's up with S&W production? I have the cash, I have the desire to own one, but S&W doesn't appear to be making them.

Looks like a similar Sig/Springfield/Kimber may be in my future. When you get a case of "gotta have" a fella can only wait so long.

I emailed S&W CS about this model's availability several weeks ago, citing several dealers response that they had none in stock and didn't know if or when they would get any.. NO answer yet. Doesn't matter now as I have one in the mail.

I am an FFL and have ordered several of those S&W Demo guns from my suppliers. You never know what you will get. They can look brand new never fired with no scratches on it....to it looks like it was dragged behind a truck for a couple of blocks. BUT it will come with the factory warranty.

Hope you get a good one.

From the photos that was posted it looks brand new. I will post photos when the gun arrives
