Not sure but I purchased two, one from buds and one from northern firearms.
I can tell you I was so impressed with the one I purchased another. This is my primary carry pistol and the same pistol I used in our last IDPA match and it performed perfectly.
Great pistol.
The only thing I have done is replace the ambi safety with a single side ed brown.

I want to do the same - replace the ambi safety with a single side safety. Was the Ed Brown single side a drop in or did it require fitting?
The 1911SC E series bobtail is a great pistol. I'm just not a fan of ambi safeties in carry pistols.

Was at my local gun shop two days ago and saw this it the case. Made the mistake of asked to see it. Once I had it in my hands I knew I was going home with it. Don't think I have ever seen a 1911 as good looking as this one and boy does is shoot accurately. It's been a long time since I have been excited about a new gun as I am about this one. S&W did an outstanding job of putting this one together.

I own one. The front sites are incorrect on older models and may shoot low. S&W will fix if pushed. Ballistol REALLY makes the colors pop and does wonders for the look of the wood.
Otherwise it is a nice gun. Never a failure. Have 250 rds through mine. I have found

A state of Michigan dealer who is a regular at the local Gun & Knife shows has had one in his showcase at the past 3 shows I've been to. This may NOT be good for my budget and this dealer is EVIL. So far he's tempted me into purchasing two Ruger SR1911's and a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle. Now he keeps on flashing that lovely E series at me.
BTW, the second SR1911 will get an Ed Brown Bobtail Mainspring Housing installed when I have the money and time to do it. Means I better start avoiding those Gun & Knife shows. I also have to say that while S&W revolvers will always be my first love for firearms, Ruger is rapidly becoming my second favorite. Both those SR1911's have been 100% reliable with excellent accuracy and the Scout Rifle is just a flat out blast to shoot.

That has to be the most attractive 1911 S&W ever produced, buying 2 makes sense, one to shoot and one just to look at. My 1911 "E" sits in a curio cabinet when not at the range. A Bobtail "E" would look good next to it.
