New Member from NE OHIO/ Just picked up a 5946
Hello , My name is Matt, I reside in NE Ohio. Today I picked up a 5946. I traded a Benelli Nova for it. Pretty happy with the trade. I have been looking for a set of wood grips. Not really having any luck. I know that Hogue makes a couple but cant find any place that has them in stock, and there is nothing of eBay. I was wondering if anyone had a set for sale, Or knew of a place to buy some. Here is a picture, Just your standard 5946. Probably gonna do a little work to it, Might polish and jewel the barrel , and trigger.

Did you look at ordering directly from Hogue? Their site is a little hard to navigate, but try the links below.
I have a 5906 and 4014 among others. I like the Hogue wood grips, but haven't ordered a set yet. I'm really thinking about it for one of my 5906's. They are the only decent wood grips I have found. I asked a few other sources like Esmerelda if they would make them, but they only make 1911 grips.

Hey so where are you in NE Ohio? PM me sometime. Maybe we can shoot somewhere. I actually put in some range time today at Stonewall. Not my normal/favorite range, but I was over that way on business and then ended up with about an hour to kill. Range bag in the car, 3 boxes of .40 S&W target ammo in the bag, 4014 in the holster............turned into a pretty good hour!

Wow, they are kind of pricey! I have ordered grips for other pistols for half of what those are going for. I guess it all comes down to supply and demand. They kind of have a "Monopoly" on the 5900 market. But the Coco Bolo grips do look appealing. Thanks for the links, Im on the fence about ordering them, but if that is the only option, looks like they might be the ones.
Also Im located in Canton, I also see your handle, looks like you do a little waterfolwing? If you're up in the Erie marsh, I was wondering what its like up there, I tend to hunt KillBuck Marsh area, if its not too crowded.

Welcome FatMatt,
From another NE Ohio forum member. I have a 5906 too. It's my best shooting 9mm I own. I didn't realize you could get wood grips. I will definitely check out the link. PM me as well for some shooting time if we are close by. I shoot at Atwell's and Sherwins.

Well I managed to find an actual pair of grips that looks pretty decent. Midway has them in stock, Now for if I can just convince my Wife that they are " A necessary improvement" ,I should be good to go. Pretty steep tag though, 72.99+Shipping.
