Anyone use ProMag magazines for 3913

I use both OEM S&W and Pro Mag... can't tell the difference. Those that think they are worthless... I would like to see some objective evidence as to why?
I use Pro mag on my 4506 and 3913 as well as S&W OEM. I have NEVER had a malfunction with one.

SW is shipping 8 round mags for the 3913, price of $42.
Numrich has SW 8 rounds as well between $32 for stainless, $48 for blued, go figure.

Never heard anything good about promag for any application but I do not have any personal experience with them, just repeating what i have heard/read. For the money, original SW mags seem like the best way to go in the longrun.

I had a Promag for my 5946 and had frequent problems with rounds not loading...I don't use it in my gun any more, maybe I can use it as a doorstop.

I have four 9mm pro-mag's that I got about six years ago for my 39-2 and 439. They have been just has good as my S&W mags after thousands of rounds. I think they are great mags and think you will be very happy with them.

Bought 3 promags for my 4566TSW. Every one of them falls out under the recoil of the first shot. My factory and factory-refurb mags work flawlessly.

There have been some posts, possibly on this forum or others that suggest that the single stack mags are reliable. I have no experience but I am passing along what I have read in the past.

Thanks for all the input. Last time I checked SW site did not have any but one reply confirme they are now in stock. I may buy a pronag just to check it out - only $20.

One of my neighbors bought a well used Sig P6 that came with a ProMag. The gun would not function properly. I noticed the magazine, flung it into the Chattahoochee River, and gave him the spare mag I had for my P225. His gun then functioned flawlessly.

I have what I think are a Pro Mags that came with a couple of my 3rd generation Smiths. Two came with my 457, along with five factory mags. I wasn't paying that much attention to the mags and didn't realize that they weren't OEM. When I took the gun to the range the first time I got to the third magazine and the gun wouldn't fire double action. I was very concerned and after some investigation I realized that I had to mongrel magazines. Those were the Pro Mags. I held them side by side with the OEM magazines, but couldn't see a difference. I put them aside and won't use them even at the range.

I also got two Pro Mags with my 3914NL. These seem to work fine, but I've relegated them to range duty just because I don't want to risk using non OEM magazines in SD carry.

OTOH, there is another thread in this forum about someone who switched out the followers and springs of his Pro Mags for S&W followers and springs and now has 100% reliable functioning. I'm going to try that when I get back home and if it works, I'll buy OEM parts and rebuild the magazines with them.

The only magazines that people here consistently report good experience with are S&W and Mec Gar. I have some Mec Gar magazines and they are identical in every aspect to the S&W magazines except for the lack of S&W logos. If Mec Gar doesn't make them for S&W as the rumor has it, they make perfect copies.

ARRRGH

Just bought 2 mags for my M&P15 and my sig p226 9mm.

I had 2-10/20 plastic Pro Mags for my rifle that were great, til stolen in a burglary.

I will update my results when I get the mags. Glad to hear the factory part rebuilds might help if needed.

the few times i used the promags in my 3914 and 908, i had no problems.. i just ordered 2 sw stainless from midway for 32 each...

I have one Promag for a full-size double stack 9mm (915) and it has worked fine. I think the issue isn't necessarily a universal lack of quality but badly inconsistent quality. Some folks have had no problems while others have had nothing but.

I'm glad that some have had good service from ProMags. However, I wouldn't use a ProMag product to wipe my butt, let alone depend on one in my pistols.
