The top you can hope for is in the four hundred bracket. Most 39-2's sell in the three hundred area.
I have never checked into it but for whatever reason they just don't sell for much.
Take a look at gunbroker dot com and see what folks are bidding on them.

thanks for the responses. GunBroker had them from $350 to $800 although this one is an early one (NIB) with matching serial number to the box, cleaning tool, extra set of rubber grips, and the original owners papers with instructions, and the original warranty card. Box is in 99% condition. Don't think the gun has been fired. Inherited it from my Dad who bought it new way back when.............

As always availability and demand will inflate the price depending on where you live. I bought a very nice 39-2 w/box,tools etc. for $550 yesterday at the Costa Mesa gun show in Southern California. Since I've been looking for some time and hadn't seen one, I didn't hesitate to pounce on it.
39-2 ct state police comemerative NIB never fired I just can't find anything recent on it. Was told 701 were made. Other than that just little tid bits Wondering if it's worth so little if I should just break it out and shoot the poor thing
