I really hope so because after reading about them I ran out and bought a pristine 4013 which I hope to have converted.

I sent him an email a couple weeks back and didn't get a reply. Tried to PM him but his inbox is full. Anyone have any other contact info, or know if he is still doing the conversions?

BM1 is the pro at the 40 to 10mm conversion and his methods are well documented on this forum. He has been kind enough to share this process and offer advise to those of us who have made the conversion ourselves. The only special tool I needed was a $90 10mm auto reamer from Brownells. I was getting ready to do a second conversion for my son and the 4013 I got off GB was too nice to mess with, got to buy another. Here is my conversion and LNIB 4013.

I'm curious what you guys are doing for magazines? Converting .40 mags?

We are all waiting patiently and hope you get this endeavor going again at some point. I only hope to one day have a 40 barrel for my 1006. Thanks :)

I have to hold off at this time, I am looking forward to starting back up doing them in the near future though.
Just can't give an accurate time frame right now.

Also will be back at the extended slide releases.
I hope you all will be patient.
Had a few curves thrown at me.

Regards,
BM1

The 10mm mags are 40 cal mags with the spacer removed and and replacing the 40 cal follower with a 10mm follower. You need to drill out the indentations holding the follower and fully debur the drill holes. BM1 also recommends replacing the spring with an extra power spring from Wolf. This photo shows an old yellow 10mm follower, I now use the white follower.

I found the reamer on brownells. How does one use it???

Does the recoil spring need replaced or modified?

Oh my. So maybe the 4006 will work too? My younger brother already wants to srll his to me. This could be fun.

Sorry, but that's a negative on the 4006. The 4006 was built on the 9mm frame and is just too small for the 10mm. The convertible 4013's are the original versions built on the 45 frame. The later 4013 TSW'a were double stack and also built on the 9mm frame. These guns are not convertible as well.

4013(R4) vs 4013TSW barrel

Here's some pictures comparing the 4013 barrel to the 4013TSW's, (large vs medium frame):

Can you say "Where's the beef?" It's definitely meatier! :)

Very nice picture illustration. This should clear up a lot for those wanting to convert 40 to 10. Thank you Blue Dot.
