shipping rip off
I want to carry my 6906 but had only one magazine. The only place I could find one in stock was Cheaper than Dirt. The magazine price was not to bad but the shipping was $16.49 for one magazine. Midway ships magazines for around $5. Never will I buy anything from them again. S&W store had some but their high cost for the mag plus shipping made the cost even higher plus had no idea when the store would get it to me.

CTD - Isn't.
After their actions of the recent past, I'd never even think of doing business with them.
For me, Brownell's have always had reasonable shipping charges.

the days of reasonable prices on 3rd. gen mags are rapidly dwindling.....especially factory SS mags and if they are high cap. mags........ forget about it....I don't deal with CTD...but they are just charging what the market will bare.......local gun shows are for me still the best place to still score fair deals on magazines.......and no shipping

I just went to AmmoSeek.com and found 2 sites that have this mag priced around $40.00. (I don't know if this is a good price or not). LG Outdoors might even offer free shipping on this. Check it out.

Depending on where you live, a nearby gun show might have them, or a sales/posting a Wanted to Buy ad here on the Forum. Can't imagine a private party charging over $16 to ship a magazine.

The mags were only about $30 but the shipping was way out of line

Mags are $37 but shipping is $9.99 flat rate no matter how many accessories you order. Check out the CDNN catalog and have your CC ready, don't do this while enjoying "adult beverages", way too many things you need. Joe

Oh yeah, I carry a 6906 with 12 in the gun but keep a 5906 mag for a reload. Cost less, holds more. Joe

Check with MecGar to see who distributes for them. Highest quality mags I've ever had for my mod 59. Much higher quality than even those from S&W. These are made from tube steel, and have no weld down the back of them... Outstanding magazines that some makers have contracted out to MecGar as they are so much better than the Firearms mfgs could build themselves.

Sound advice pharmer. I carry my pre-rail 3913tsw with the standard seven round mag, but my spare mags are nine rounders.
Picked up two, used OE stainless mags for $15 each. Like you said, cost less, holds more. I don't think I'd care about the aesthetics if they were ever needed.

CTD--the resource of last resort. They make up on the bananas what they lose on the oranges.

You should try E-Bay sometimes you will find the same mag you want for the same price with free shipping. I just got a Wilson 45acp mag on E-bay for the same price that Wilson was selling with free shipping.

I found a 3rd gen mag...
I found a 3rd gen mag at an LGS. It was too expensive but I bought it anyway and didn't have to pay shipping. I'm not sorry I bought it. I don't have to worry about availability any more.

I have plenty of mags but I just ordered half dozen more used 5906 mags from Centerfire systems; $103 with shipping. 3rd gen mags just don't come around often enough. Joe
