I just recently changed from a curved grip to a straight grip. I find the straight grip is a much better feel and looks better. Opinions?

I was a straight grip guy for a long time. However, after me departure and return to 3rd gens, I find the curved grips fits my hand and points more naturally for me. Of course this change in preference may well be due to the fact I've had Glocks forced on me by my department.

Yeah, forcing to make you have to hold a 2X4 will do that.

Obviously, whichever you shoot best with is the one to go with, regardless of looks. I prefer the curved grip, but that is just me.

Nice looking pistol. For the n00b, what model is that ?

My S&W 1006 came with straight stocks, which I discovered I did not like at all.

I bought a pair of curved stocks for it, and it was an improvement.

Straight grips for me...... discovered them when I got my 1st 915.

Love the old 39 grip...... but for some reason the double-stack 9mm curved grip just don't feel "right" to me.

In the single stack 9s and .45s I like the Hogue's rubber or wood the stock grips feel a might to thin........like that little bit of extra thickness in my grip.

Straight grips on double-stack guns, curved grips on single stack.

Doesn't seem to affect my natural pointing, and they fit my smallish hands better that way.

I really like the curved grips...they just seem to work better for me.

When I carried an issued 5903, as an armorer I replaced the curved grip with the straight one. It fit my hand better for reach and grip angle.

We also switched the curved grips for straight ones for some shooters with short-fingers, and it helped them.

Looks? Couldn't care less. (My grips got really banged up, so cosmetic concerns were pretty much a non-starter. :) )

I can easily adapt to using curved grips, and grew to prefer them on the compact 6906/4013TSW's.

Enough training & range time sort of makes it a little less important ... unless you have really short fingers.

I guess you could say it's more of a shrug for me nowadays.

for whatever reason I like the looks of the straight grip on my 4506-1....but shoot way better with the curved....Hogue finger grooved on the 6906 and 4516-2......and have been practicing more with my 3913 that has stock delrins .......and I think I am going to go back to stock grips on my ccw a 3913NL.......but....with a little traction strip on the palm swell:D

It's a LEO trade in 5906.

As far as straight grip for short fingers, I agree. But, I have long fingers and the straight grip still feels better than the curved grip. I dunno............

Its just a matter of individual preference. I like the curved grips & have them on most of my 3rd Gens.

As many answers as there are hands...each person has a different length, width,
and other hand features...unique grip considerations are indeed, Unique ;)

My first 3rd generation pistol was a 4006 with straight grip. Then I owned several 5906 pistols with curved grips. My preference was always for the curved grip, just fit my hand better. It's just a personal preference thing. Mine are all gone now, don't own a 3rd generation pistol.

Much prefer the straight grip for look and feel. Always had the curved until I got a 915. Straight look and feel much better to me. I am a big Beretta guy, too, I I much prefer the straight backstrap on the Vertec model.

I wish they made the straight grip for the 6906.

And I have a hand like a catcher's mitt.
