Default Secure in my masculinity

Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be caught carrying this to the range.

It had just came in the day before, and I knew it wouldn't be there long. What else could I do?

Thanks. As I left the gun store, the lady behind the counter smiled and said "Nice purse". It's almost the exact same color as the shirt I was wearing.

I was just getting ready to ask if you were talking about the gun or the purse.

I have said before that if I'm proud to have a beautiful lady on my arm (my wife fits the bill) I am also proud to have a beautiful lady on my hip. Besides...S&W has been making Lady Smiths for decades and everyone should have at least one in their safe.

I'm likin' that 3914LS...very nice!

Not to drift tooooo far off topic, but there was an Adam 12 episode about that. Man purses, not the 3914LS.

For anyone who is interested, here are a couple of pictures of my equally rare 3914NL.

I didn't either! I thought it was just a regular 3914 until I saw the dust cover, then I thought it was an NL, which had me wondering if I'd ever seen a 3914NL, then when I got my hands on it...

That's very nice. So did I actually pick up a hard to find pistol?

ETA: I'm thinking a 4040PD would look nice beside your NL or my LS.

Nice. I've long wanted a 3913LS, and I'm too damn old to worry about what anybody thinks of my masculinity. I have my memories...

But I'd probably give away the purse.

Great find of a great gun. Here's a picture of very well used 3913nl that I bought new in 1992 , my first S&W semi auto. Don't mind the CS9 it just likes to get in pictures.

It's been fired, though I don't believe much. Whoever had it took good care of it as there's nary a handling mark on the exterior.

I found it at OE, along with the others mentioned, but also saw another 659 along with a nice Mod. 64 and 65 at another place.

Considering that and its condition, do I shoot the snot out of it? I'm not big on safe queens. Since my "lady" is out of town and hasn't seen it, I've thought about stashing it away until Christmas as she's partial to my 3913.

I'd say shoot it, but look at it this way, if you give it to your wife for Christmas and she likes it you can pick up at least one more with her blessing.

Yeah, maybe my thoughtfulness will loosen up the gun purchase purse strings!

I had the 3914LS out last night fondling, that is, handling it, and I'm actually kinda glad I passed on the 3913NL a few weeks back. If I hadn't have, I would likely have had to leave the Lady Smith for someone else.

Awesome pistol. I don't think anyone will notice the script if you have to use it for what it was made for.

I have a 3914NL, did I say NL (didn't come with purse) and a 3913. The 3913 will go before the 3914 as it is an great shooter. I think your in for a treat when you get to the range.

Now, did I say NL? No purse but mine came with a box.

Enjoy

Where you live has a lot to do with what you can get away with.
Example:
In Florida a guy wearing a fanny pack most likely is carrying a firearm therein. However, in San Francisco there's an entirely different stereotype that goes with that image.

Further probing around in the pockets of the "purse" also revealed a cleaning kit. I'm really not sure if the purse came from S&W, or the previous owner had it custom made. There's a label on the inside for a co. called bob allen, from Des Moines. Non-caps as that's the way it is on the label.

I remember when the " Man Purse" came out, it's just coming back in style that's all. The other day at the mall I saw Bell Bottom pants and tie-dyed shirts...see , they coming back in style.
I'm still hanging on to the two cool polyester Leisure Suits I have, just in case they come back, I'm ready!

In Florida it is hot. In the summer I carry my Sig P938 with three seven round mags in my Fanny Pack. At 74 years old I don't care what people think :-)

At 74, they probably think you've got your spare Depends in it if they give it any thought at all.

I have a 3914NL just like yours, it is good to know that it is rare. Of course I wasn't thinking of getting rid of it.

According to the SCSW, they were only produced in 1991. I'd guess that they were dropped in favor of the more popular 3913 series.

I don't have any plans to divest myself of mine either. I don't carry it much. In fact, I've put one of the LaserLyte 9mm adapters into the chamber and use it along with their LED target to practice indoors.
