Hello, I was needing some helping on getting a value on a 5903SSV I just acquired. It is excellent shape with hardly any mark on it. It is just the gun with 1 mag. I know it's 1 of only 1500 made but am having a hard time pricing it as I haven't been able to find much info on their current price. I appreciate all the help.

Last one I saw was at a gunshow about 8 months ago. $389 was the price tag. Just the gun, no box, etc. Gun was in VG - excellent condition. Better than a PD trade, but obviously used.

Bluebellyankee thats around what i was thinking as the most recent one i seen sold for 750 and that was 6 months ago. I figured 7-800. I'll have to try and post pics when i get home. I wanted an accurate value as i may consider trading it for a revolver.

Used 3rd Gens usually are relatively inexpensive. A new 5903 SSV is rare enough that it can be worth twice what a used one is worth. Anyone want to venture a guess as to the current value of a 5903 SSV new in the box, with box, original stuff, etc.?

That's my last unfired gun/safe queen - I have some guns not fired by me but all used by someone. So, naturally, curiosity makes me ask.

I say it is worth $900 if it is NIB and pristine. And yes I will pay you that amount if you are ready to sell it.

Couple of quick pictures but as can be seen it is in beautiful shape. May trade or sale soon.

BlueBellyYankee, I'm not ready to sell it yet. It has a funny history for me. I bought a Ruger P89 way back when, a giant clunker of a handgun, but I shot it very well. The high-cap ban was coming and I was in an LGS and the 5903 SSV was in a case calling my name. I liked it better than the P-89 so I bought it and sold the P-89 to a friend who was clamoring for a high capacity pistol and wanted one of mine. I only had one but after the SSV moved in I had two so I relented. I figured the SSV was too cool to shoot, especially after the ban went into effect (and I have at least two if not four extra magazines for it) and the CHL law wasn't yet even a pipe dream so I couldn't carry it the same way I could carry some mouseguns (yes, yes, I did it all the time - too late to arrest me for prior acts that are now legal!). So I put it away.

Lo and behold, and many guns later, including other high capacity pistols post-ban termination, it never got fired or taken more than a few inches out of the box for fun inspections. Then it gets re-wrapped and sits again for a long time. My last safe queen.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Someday I might sell it - you never know. But I really love 3rd Gen pistols and only have three so it will be hard to part with. :)
