Hello all. New to the forum but not S&W 3rd gen autos. I carried 5906 all through the 90's and for a few years in the 2000's before my P.D. switched to the SW99. Currently own a 5903, 6906, 3913 and recently acquired a slide and barrel for a 4013. The extractor on this slide is wider than than I've seen on other 3rd gen. pistols and was hoping someone can shed some light on it? I have searched, but can find nothing on it so far. Any info or leads about it would be eternal!my appreciated. Thanks.

I was watching that one.

Thanks Heymat. After I thought about it, I have only had experience with 9mm; maybe the 40 just came with a beefier extractor. I was using the 9mm as a comparison when I posed the question.

The 4013 (non-TSW) is on the large (.45) frame & uses a different extractor (#238660000)

The others you mentioned are on the medium frame & all use a different but same extractor (#101720000).

The 4013TSW is on the medium frame as well but uses an even different extractor.

You can see what difference the frame's size makes here.

The only part if that lot I wanted was the decocker. The price at Numrich is in the $60 range, if I remember right. My plan is to convert a banged-up 4046 (a Brinks trade-in) to a 4006. The slide and the barrel were just a bonus.

I believe a .45 safety body is a bit too wide to work in a 9mm/.40 slide. However, I do like your thought process.

That slide may need to soak for a day or two before it lets go of any parts!

If that is a original 4013 that is 45 sized slide, it will not work on 4006/4046. It fits the single stack frame that can be converted to 10mm. You would need a 4013 TSW slide to convert the 4046.
