Heads-Up Re: CS9 Magazines!

Good lookin out TTSH. Seems those mags will soon be as expensive and hard to find as the gun itself. Can't wait till mines worth $800!

CS9 magazines were so hard to find before this that prices on that large auction site shot up as high as $75.00. I'll confess that I bought a second CS9 pistol a couple months ago just for the spare magazines that came with it. :o

Such is life. :( If I hadn't bought that second CS9, CS9 magazine prices would be up over $100 by now.

Wow! Guess I better hold onto the two that came with mine. LOL

That is an excellent price for new CS9 magazines. If I were in the market I'd order immediately because they'll sell quickly.

A quick reminder that these also fit the pre rail 3913TSW.

They also have factory 8 round magazines at the same price.

You sure about that? I own both a Black CS9 and a mint 3914 and the CS 9 mag does NOT fit my 3914!! A 7 round CS9 mag will not bottom out in the mag well and engage the mag catch on most 3900's so be careful here guys!

Yes, I'm sure. The pre rail 3913/53TSW uses a shorter grip than the regular 39xx compacts. It uses the same magazine as the CS9. They didn't make a whole lot of the pre rail guns, so they are pretty rare.

Ok but my 3914 is also a pre rail and the CS 9 mag absolutely will not fit. The 3900 mag will fit the CS 9 but is not flush with the grip so--.
Heads up guys looks like some will interchange and some won't.
My 3914

GaryS is talking about the CS9 magazines fitting a pre-rail Model 3913TSW (the one with the grip cut-out).

Your Model 3914 is not a pre-rail TSW model. In fact, I don't think S&W ever made a pre-rail 3914TSW. They only made the 3900-series pre-rail TSW model in stainless (the pre-rail Model 3913TSW).

The cutout on the pre-rail 3913TSW is what brings the magazine capacity down from 8 to 7, thereby enabling the use of the CS9's 7-round magazine as an alternate to the special baseplate (and hard to find) pre-rail 3913TSW magazine. :)

About a year ago on a mag search for my 908s at my local gun store, I came out with a seven rounder with the pinky extension. Dimensionally the same as the eight round standard mag for the 908/3913. And it fit perfectly. Functions flawlessly.

So TTSH, thanks for posting. Kinda solved a little mystery for me.

First off I know what I have is not a TSW ( own a pre rail 4013 TSW and a MK 3 PC Shorty .40 btw).
What I do know is that the CS9 7 rounder will not interchange with some of the 3900's but the 8 round 3900 mags will fit but hang out the bottom a bit on a CS9.
Owned the CS 9 before I owned the 3914 and hoped the CS mag would fit the 3914 as had several 7 round CS 9 mags but the 3914 only came with one. Got lucky and found several cheap at a local Pawn Shop for both Pistols. Wanted to make sure that it was known that some 3900's would not take that mag to save someone some grief.
Thanks for clearing up the TSW extra cut and them taking the CS9 mag as I didn't know about those.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone found another source for CS9 magazines?
Also, I am looking for 12 round magazines for the S&W 6906 if anyone knows where they may found.
Please PM or email if you have any info on these magazines......
