Model 422 Magazines
I have a Model 422 which came with a 12 round magazine. I can only find 10 round magazines now. Does anyone know where to get the original sliders for the magazines to convert the 10 round magazines to 12 rounds?

I believe some aftermarket outfits produce some such pieces. It does seem these days that the new 41/422/622/2206 magazines do NOT have the access hole in the floor plate of the magazine, so you must drill that to gain access to changing or even simply stripping and cleaning. I suspect that most of us find it to be a bother for a two round upgrade, but I certainly understand.
I believe the idea to move to all 10-rd capacity in a magazine obviously designed & capable of holding 12 rounds wasn't done simply to "punish the masses", but rather make it easier for the gun maker to streamline the products to be easily shippable to all of the 50 states, even the ones stiffly under communist rule. Sigh.

The 12 shot mags were only available for about 2 years. So not so many around when compared with the 10 shot mags. The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 had a lot to do with it.....
You can mod a 10 to 12 if you feel like chopping up the follower.
for everyone's benefit - With the magazine without the floor plate hole, you need to pull up the spring, lifting the internal pin from the base plate and slide the plate out. If you do not get the pin back into the base plate its possible for it to slide out.

Thanks for the support. I know California passed legislation to limit the capacity to 10 rounds, but even outside CA, I cannot find the 12 round magazines. I even wrote to S&W to see it they had them, but they do not. I cut the 10 round slider and it works well, but I was hoping to be able to get the right part to convert my 10 round mags to 12 rounds. I guess that may not be possible.

Twelve round mags show up from time to time on different sites. I also see pistols for sale with them occasionally. I've collected a lot of them over the years. I see sellers asking as high as $75 which is ridiculous. There was just one on GB for $40.
The followers were available for awhile from a large gun parts supplier but they are now gone. The same follower is used in the 2213/2214 mags but they are crazy expensive too.
