Default PD issued 659

Hi, does anyone out there in S&W-land know which (if any) police departments ever issued the S&W Model 659?

Thanks !

Thanks, grcoffman104...

I'm kinda surprised that I didn't get more feedback on this.

The IL state police adopted the S&W Model 39 in 1967 (I started in '68), then went to the 439 in about 1980, then the 5904 in about 1988. I was at a gun show a while back looking for a 5904, didn't see one, and ended up buying a 659.

Little known now... at the fbi Miami shootout, as the bad guy was moving and shooting with rifle., Agents across street shot him with 9mm silver tip. Was a fatal hit but took him a while to bleed out. Sold me on silvertips back in the day

Boston PD used 12 of them back in the late 80s for their entry team.
