Just picked up a beautiful handgun today, a Model 659 in like new shape. Serial number is: TAS9998 . Some of these apparently had de-cocker problems, but I checked mine and it is fine. I will send photos of it as soon as I put it on my Fototime site where I store my photos.
Can someone figure out when this pistol was made? It looks like it has been drilled for a lanyard ring which I would like to add if I could find one. The code G8 is stamped next to the hole where I think the lanyard ring would go.

The early 659s had a lanyard ring on the backstrap insert - the later ones like yours did not.
