Question on S&W 59/Marlin Camp 9 magazine
I recently picked up a NIB Marlin Camp 9 Deluxe and it uses the Model 59 magazines. I’m looking at a 20 rd mag that has the S&W logo on it but also has "Mec Gar Made in Italy " stamped on other side.
Did Mec Gar make factory magazines for the model 59 for S&W?
Thanks in advance for any assistance !

Over 20 years ago I had a Camp 9 and 20 round S&W mags.
I remember they had the S&W logo and did not have a Mec-Gar logo.

Mec-Gar makes the OEM magazines for many gun companies
Traditionally the Mec-Gar branding is not on an OEM product
That is not to say one or more might have gotten out
Why don't you post the pictures in question so that we can give you a more informed response

Mec-Gar seems to have a great reputation for reliability/durability.

I have a 20 rd mag, looks just like a 59 mag, has an orange follower, all it has is MARLIN
9MM on the metal baseplate. Works great.

That is a realtivly modern magazine, not one of the older 20s that I am used to
That has the same S&W logo and font that is used on the M&P magazines. The old mags with a S&W logo had it lasered on
That is the first Smith & Wesson OEM magazine that I ever saw the Mec-Gar name on.

The older 20rd mags had a metal baseplate and a "bump out" on the front to keep the mag from being over inserted....
I've got one with 2 bump outs for 6906 and 59xx guns....... guess if you wanted it for a full size gun you ground off the upper bump out?????????

Bottom line is either S&W branded magazines, OR Mec Gar (if available) for any S&W metal framed semi auto.

Joe's Pawn Shop has an aftermarket 32rd mag listed for sale . It doesn't say who makes them , just call and ask . I've bought mags from them before , good guys to deal with .

The marlin 20 rounders are almost identical to the S&W 5900 series 20 rounders. I have never seen a Mec gar mag. but I hear they are quality mags. and work great in the camp 9's for a lot less $$$. Nutnfancy has a great camp 9 video where he uses the mec gar 20 rounders. i will add the link below.

IHMO, Mecgar makes the best aftermarket mags available. Never have any issues with them.
I did find a 20 round that has 2 bumps on it, it fits the 6904 perfect, guess I would need to cut bump off for the 5903. It is only marked S&W on base plate.
I do have a couple of 17 round 59 mags made by Mecgar and labeled as such.
