I bought a couple of model 410 slides and I want to get them all nice and pretty but I can't for the life of me remember how to remove the single side style safety/decocker from the slide! The ambi safety type is easy but it's been a while since I've done it on my 910 and 410 models. I hate forgetting things like this it really bugs me! I know how to capture the firing pin via the firing pin safety and all but just need some reminders on how to wiggle it out. If anyone can help me remember it would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance!

Lock the firing pin forward, use a small punch to push the firing pin the rest of the way forward (from the rear) then gently push (or tap) the right side os the safety. It should snap past the spring loaded plunger engaging it with the slide and move toward the left and be able to be pulled out the rest of the way. Be sure to control the plunger and spring so they don’t fly across the room.
If this doesn’t work, I don’t know what else to do!

As Green Frog says, once you lock the firing pin forward use a small punch to push it all the way forward.
Then just wiggle the safety out. Once you get it out a bit, the safety will keep the firing pin out of the way.

Ah ha! Pushing the firing pin forward after locking it was the step I was leaving out. Yeah the little plungers and springs are things I will never find if they take flight.. Thank you both so much. I guess when you haven't done something in a while it can escape the memory and put you back at square one. Much appreciated fellas!

Do it in a callon ziplock so you don't loose the spring and plunger!

De nada, amigo! I have been stricken in my old age with the dreaded "Half Timer's Disease." This means I can't remember stuff but about half the time, but you were lucky in that your question was in the half I remembered today!
BTW, there is a 4 part presentation on You Tube with general instructions on disassembling (2 parts) and reassembling (the other 2 parts) a generic 3rd Gen pistol. It is also useful for doing 2nd Gen pistols as well, just FYI.
