What is the "B" symbol on the slide? I just picked this up to replace one that I foolishly traded years ago. A 5906tsw I believe.

That's one of the better looking Brinks guns - most look like they've been more than well used. I would convert that one to TDA and have the night sights re-lamped.
Truth right there.
A lot of the ex-Brinks pistols look lik they've been dragged behind the armored trucks.
I haven't even cleaned up yet. The grips are worn on one side but the metal is great.

I'd shoot it first. My 6946 is very lightly used and shoots like a dream.
I used to think the same way as you do, but I've come around to the DAO 3rd gen guns. I have 2 5946's, a 3953, and a 6946. Smooth and consistent trigger pull. I'd leave it DAO. I do hate the after-thought riveted on accessory rails that Smith slapped on those guns.
I have both a 5946 and one of these Brinks 5946TSW's . I'm not a fan of the DAO guns , but I got them both at great prices . These Brinks guns must still be lingering , I bought mine a couple of years ago at an Orlando show from Shoot Straight . He's a huge dealer and seems to get a lot of guns from places updating their guns .
