Default Performance center 5906

Picked up another performance center at auction , this time a 5906 I believe this to be the idpa version . I paid 1200 for it and think i did alright . Gun came with a generic blue smith box , missing original grips and one prc marked mag , Did the mag come with the baseplate bumper or is it aftermarket ? thanks

Congratulations

You have a fine addition to the Family

The 5906 IDPA is as wonderful gun and you got it at an awesome price

The mag bumper is original. That magazine would have shipped with one of the double stacks that has a magazine funnel like the 5906 PPC or 3566 Limited

I do not have an image of the 9MM mags, but here are what the 356TSW magazines looked like.

The first two are for the compact frames, the third one is a 15 round for a full size frame with the magazine funnel. Obviously the third one works in any of the pistols, just like the longer 20 round magazine that is pictured last

Restricted capacity 10 round magazines also exist with the bumpers.

Production of the 5906 IDPA began in the late 1990s and your firearm would have shipped with the restricted capacity 10 round magazines without the bumper due to the 1994 Crime and Control Bill or as the Democrats and the Media called it, the Assault Weapon Ban

That is conceivably the original box. If there is no end label on the box, look under the foam

I have both , nib , 4in and 5in . I was lucky to pick them up from another member , a good friend . He included a letter from another member stating there were only 19 5in made . Mine came in the metal PC case . I'd say you did more than good ! The member that the Roy letter was from I was in contact with , but my email went on me . He said he had 2 of these , so between the 3 of us we have almost 1/4 of the production run .

All the 4" DPA 5906s I have had came in the black Doskocil boxes none came with the extended pads. At one time I had 3, kept 1. The 5" I have came in a metal case with magwell and 2 mags with pads. I thought there were about 50 made. The PPC 9s came with a magwell 2 mags with the pads.

That is a IDPA per the DPAxx serial #

LOL I bought one in the late 90s hoping to use it in IDPA club matches here in W Pa.

But our first boy came along in the summer or 1997 followed by our youngest in 2000.... then diapers..... then Soccer from "Under 5" to High School Varsity for both boys......... what does any of this have to do with a PC 5906???

25 years later it sits unfired in my safe!!!!!!! Mine is DPA 00xx. From a past post 450 made in 1998..Last PC gun I bought!

What little IDPA and USPSA shooting I did in those years I used a Beretta 92 Elite II.

Congrats on a great find!
I "think" it is/will be a great gun. Love the decocker only feature!!!

Mine came with flat baseplates,, I added bumpers after the fact, it's a very nice gun, ive shot mine a handful of times, even carried it a few..

Imo it's nothing special to me, compared to my TargetChamp, but again that's just me

My 4" and 5" IDPA 5906s did not have the mag funnels, and came with standard base plates.

I have one of those short PC .356TSW magazines that I use in my Marlin Camp 9.
