CSX Trigger
Any suggestions for making the trigger lighter? Like the gun and the feel, just used to a 1911 trigger. Thanks in advance.

Load the magazine, aim at the target, squeeze the trigger until the magazine is empty. Repeat as necessary.

Mine is a consistent 5 1/4lbs after buffing the hammer, sear and other parts, plus I changed the hammer spring to a lighter one. The hammer spring is smaller in diameter than a 1911 so looked chose one from an assorted spring pack from Wolf Springs I had in my stash. I chose one that is lighter and cut it longer than the original. It provides about the same depth of impact as the stock spring.

Every S&W I have owned got better with use, believe this is typical of S&W pistols. My 22 year old CS9 has the smoothest action of any pistol I have owned, they seem to only wear in not wear out.

The hammer hooks on my CSX were very rough. Trigger pull was gritty...lightly stoned the surface of the hooks smooth and like night and day. Have not done it yet but I plan to install a lighter hammer spring as well..

Once you are used to a finely tuned 1911 trigger anything else is second fiddle - lol. You could make sure there isn't any grit or debris in there. That said, your CSX trigger will never come close - so just grin and bear it. Two different animals!

Beware of losing certain trigger group parts such as small springs. S&W won't sell replacements. You have to send the entire gun to S&W and they will install. No more S&W for me!
