CSX Trigger help needed
Thanks to the people who have explained how to disassemble the CSX. I pulled mine apart a polished the hammer and sear. Trigger still has the wall and some gritty fill. Any idea what parts I should try next? Tried searching the forum but had no luck.

From what I learned here, look at your firing-pin safety plunger. If it's not white, round, plastic...it's the original style. The new one is supposed to have nice affect on the trigger.

I pulled the slide off and the creep was gone. I think the problem is the firing-pin safety plunger. Mine is black. Looks like it may be polymer. Can't find a replacement on line so I may just call S&W and see if they will send a new one. Thanks for the suggestion.

I emailed S&W and requested a new Firing pin block. Have not heard back yet. The hardest part of removing the f/p block is finding a magnet small enough to fit in the hammer slot. I used a larger magnet stuck onto a punch tool. It magnified the whole punch. Worked great.

I heard back.. "We don't send that part out, send it back to us." No thanks, I'm ok with mine the way it is, I was just checking.

Thank you for relaying that information. That's not the response that I was hoping for. I suspect that another solution will become available at some point.

I pulled the black f/p stop out and polished it the best I could. Was surprised that it actually helped. Its a lot better than when it was new.

I received a reply from Smith today. Here it is.
I will make arrangements to have that part mailed out to you. I do not have any information available as to whether it is a metal or plastic part, but it is the current part number for that item.
Regards,
Dave

So apparently depending on who you contact they either will or won't send the part out or either will or won't require it to go back to the factory.
Got it.

On a guess, if you get a more experienced employee they'll send a part out. If you get a newer "not a gun" person employee, they'll say no.
Or, maybe it's the other way around.

I called S&W customer service today. The gentleman said that there is only one part number, indicating that there has not been a change to the part. He offered to send me one anyway. I accepted his offer. It will be interesting to see if it is any different than the one that I have now.
