I ordered two Smith and Wesson model 39 magazines from SARCO for testing. The two SARCO magazines appear to be the same magazines as sold by Numrich Arms/Gun Parts.com. The magazines are $20 each from SARCO and I received my two SARCO magazines which were delivered Saturday. The magazine was in a stapled clear plastic bag with no markings. The magazines I received were identical to the pictures on SARCO and Numrich web sites.

I’ve only shot each magazine loaded with my reloads which were mixed 9 mm cases loaded with 115 grain FMJ, 4.0 grains Accurate #2 and CCI small pistol primers. All rounds fired and ejected and the slide locked to rear on an empty magazine.

Here is a picture of the SARCO model 39 magazine. There are no markings on the floor plate and the followers are metal. The SARCO magazine is on the right, the factory model 39/439 is in the middle and the left magazine is a ProMag for a model 39.

The next picture is of the magazines laying on their spine. The two magazines on the right are the SARCO, then factory S&W mag, then ProMag and S&W stainless nine round 3904/3905/3906 magazine.

The next picture of the magazines is of the magazines laying on their side. From the left is ProMag, Factory S&W, SARCO and S&W 3906 for comparison.

Here is a picture from left, ProMag, S&W Factory 39/439 and SARCO.

As I do more testing on the SARCO magazines I’ll post my results in this thread. Here is a link to the model 39 magazine sold by SARCO.

S&W-Model 39 9mm caliber magazine New Manufactured - SARCO, Inc

I noticed SARCO had twelve round stainless steel S&W magazines with finger extension for the 469/669/6904/6906 pistols. These appear to be factory S&W magazines. Here is a link to the twelve round 469 magazines.

S&W Model 69 Series Pistol Magazine, 12rnd - SARCO, Inc

I’ve only used the SARCO model 39 magazines in my model 439 pictured below.

The magazine look like a quality product but one magazine would not accept all eight cartridges. I disassembled the magazine and it appeared the magazine spring needed to be rotated 180 degrees for proper alignment on the follower.

I reassembled the mag and it accepted all eight rounds but both mags only grudgingly accept the eight round.

I just fired eight more reloads through the magazine where I properly aligned the magazine spring. The SARCO mag fed all eight cartridges and the slide locked back on the last round. It is to cold and windy to do any additional testing today. The reloads today were mixed cases loaded with 115 grain Xtreme plated round nose bullet, 4.6 grains Accurate #2 and CCI small pistol primers.

Probably Asian made as well as these - Robertson Trading Post - Item Details

Your probably right, SARCO only had one picture and I saw the “S” on the side of the body and thought they looked like S&W factory mags. It was really hard to tell from the picture. SARCO charged sales tax and $5.95 shipping on my order for four magazines, 2 model 39 mags and two 1911 45 ACP mags.

I shot my model 439 yesterday and today with SARCO magazines with my reloads and some factory JHP ammo. No malfunctions and leaving the mags loaded makes it easier to load the eighth round into the mag.

I shot my model 39-2 today using the SARCO mags in it and it functioned 100% and the slide locked back on empty. On my sample size of two I think these mags are worth buying for $20 plus shipping and sales tax from SARCO.

I won’t recommend the two 1911 45 ACP mags I purchased on the same order. They feed but won’t lock the slide back on empty in my Rock Island Armory 1911 A-1 45 ACP.

Here’s a picture of my Smith & Wesson 39-2 I shot today. I still enjoy shooting these pistols.
